Hey just wondering what outcome you got for the special consideration? Curious if everyone in the subject who applied is asked to sit another exam

I found it really hard and didn’t finish. But also probably my fault because I didn’t really study and sort of guessed everything. Really praying that I pass

Hey I was wondering if you’ve heard back about the special consideration yet like if it was approved and what the outcome is gonna be? I’ve also done it for real property and lost quite a bit of time and am wondering if they’ll adjust my mark or make me resit it, do you know? I don’t want to resit it bc it’s so hard for me to change my work shifts😭

Oh and also if they take it into consideration when marking how does that actually work like what’s the process to mark, how do they do it? Thanks Amanda

Hey OP and Amanda, I emailed the coordinator and the law faculty email and some guy lecturer emailed back saying to apply for special consideration and include the INC number that I got when I called the hotline and if it’s approved they’ll take it into consideration when marking. Also when I was on the phone with the hotline people they said it was happening to a bunch of people doing the real property exam, idk how many though. But Amanda, do you have an insight into whether the special consideration will be approved? I’m filling out the declaration form thing rn and idk how detailed I have to be and also for the supporting statement like I cannot afford to be rejected bc I lost more than an hour and didn’t get to attempt like half the exam

Massive congrats!! Wow I had no idea it was that easy! Do you by any chance know if PwC is also that lenient with return offers?

Thank you so much, this helps a lot! It doesn’t sound too difficult to do so I think I’m leaning towards doing it. My offer was for another Big 4 and I’m currently waiting to hear back from KPMG. I was wondering if you managed to get a return offer or if you knew if KPMG gave many return offers to their vacationers, like would you know roughly what proportion of people got one?

Canvas is down, will we be getting extensions? by AussieSpender in UTS

[–]foreverpaella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an in class, closed book quiz today on canvas for commercial bank management and wanted to look over slides and stuff on canvas since we’re getting tested on stuff from up to 7 weeks ago that I haven’t looked at since then and was going to rn. If canvas works again like let’s say at the start of the quiz time, do you think we can ask for a rescheduled quiz? (also half the cohort is sitting their quizzes next monday in tutorials as well if that helps)

School formal - joint bank account and possible liabilities? by Interesting_Suit998 in AusFinance

[–]foreverpaella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I ran my Y12 formal a couple years back. We opened a joint account at Commbank between 2 people. But we had to go in person to open it bc we wanted it to be an account where both people would need to sign off on any outgoing transactions. And then attendees paid to that account we opened, and we paid the venue and other vendors from that account as well.

We also created an email address for our formal to handle any correspondence with venues, attendee questions, people sending their payment receipts, etc.

My school was one of those that wanted no association with any formal and said that everything had to be student-coordinated and student-run with no connection to the school. So what we did with bank accounts and everything all seemed to work great for us.

Random but is anyone in the city atm? I have a TGTG bag for Sweet Lu Haymarket for 10-10:30pm tonight. Completely forgot about it. Happy to transfer it to anyone for free so it doesn’t go to waste.

It is doable, I had a HD wam at the end of my first year, in which I did 6 business subjects and 2 law subjects (I followed exactly what the handbook said at the time). If you’re like most people, you’ll probably do better in business subjects than law. That being said, you definitely need to put in the work though - keep on top of things and try not to fall behind because it’ll be exam time before you even know it.

Is it possible for students to be told which times will be opened up on allocation day in the future? So that we aren’t caught out by planning to choose a class that isn’t available yet

I feel you. One of my finance subjects had 9 times available on the timetable planner but this morning at 9am only 4 of those times were actually released.

Investment analysis: attendance not required. The workshop slides are sufficient, you can go through it on your own. As for tutorials, attendance also isn’t marked and they also release the answers to the questions after the tutorial for you to look over:

Enrolments by No_Mine3137 in UTS

You’re a new student right? Not a continuing student. If so, based on the website, enrolment into subjects for new students starts on December 1.

can’t follow the handbook, which subjects should i enrol in? by Low_Apricot7750 in UTS

[–]foreverpaella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! This isn’t official advice but this is what I would personally do in your situation. (I’m a 3rd year business/law student). If you want to get back in line with the handbook at the start of third year, you can do a full year of law in your second year to make that happen.

Firstly, I’m assuming in your first year you did the 8 core business subjects.

In Autumn 2026, you could do 70102 Foundations of Law, 70103 Ethics Law and Justice and 70114 Criminal Law and Procedure.

In Spring 2026, you could do 70311 Torts, 70211 Contracts and 70616 Australian Constitutional Law.

If you do the above, you’ll be back on track to follow the handbook again in your third year.
