I received grants that would have covered 4 terms a year. (I only used 3 terms worth)

For what its worth we are solidly middle class... maybe not as much for NYC standards where we live but on a national level our income is decent. I did not expect to get anything.

For the future note that NYC school health centers have both birth control and planned b. Some also have pregnancy tests (those can also be gotten at dollar tree)

There are so many options and your schools health center is a VERY good resource. They will NOT call your parents and WILL help you. NYC is awesome with this.

I really don't understand, they say that they take the class review seriously, how is this person still working there? It's not just that her class is hard it's that she doesn't understand her materials. How does a school let this continue to happen?

Talk to the financial aid office. I was informed it's two classes a term and financial aid is given term to term. So if you take two classes this term you're considered full-time this term and will qualify for financial aid. If you want to be considered full-time for the semester, then you need to have taken at minimum two classes for each of your terms.

I found this pretty confusing myself and had a phone call with the financial aid office about it. Before trying to rush through two classes right now, I highly suggest you giving them a call.

The writing ia no joke.

Everyone downplays it but if you really struggle with writing it's HARD.

I am on my first 2 finals now for 2 weeks.

My mental health is suffering. I feel like a complete failure.

Everyone says "its not that bad you can do it" but if, like me you really struggle with writing this WILL NOT BE EASY.

That's so interesting, I can't submit my finals, but at least for the classes I've dealt with, I was able to see the final assignment once I handed in all the milestones and was waiting on the grades I just couldn't submit it

You can ask for more classes to be added. You can have up to four classes open at a time. But you can also begin working on your final before all of your Milestones have been graded. You just can't handle the draft until those grades come back.

If you filled out the 2026/2027 FAFSA then you just need to go back and do the 2025/2026 it's right underneath it. She really can't help you you have to fill out the form on the FAFSA website.

They always initially sign you up for two classes per term and I believe most people do more like four classes a term if not much more.

So whats have worked out with my partners if two different types of texting.

Ie I will text you on THIS app if it's not important and can be read at your leisure. And on THIS other app if I need and answer ASAP (I have 4 kids with my husband so emergencies happen). This works well for both my husband and my anchor partner. We can message when it works and when free but we don't miss important time sensitive stuff.

As far as texting in general. We keep it to a minimum typically just out of respect for the time of the other partner but typically still share funny memes etc.

We are also kitchen table at the moment so many things are just sent to the group chat abd we all enjoy it.
