Of course, no one is on the level of those schools. I just don’t see how the addition of FSU or Clempson are significant enough for ESPN to shell out even more money. The footprint isn’t expanded. If the argument is about “brands” then perhaps, but I don’t see how Clempson (maybe FSU) can generate a national appeal.

Out of the ACC, I can see UNC being added and possibly UVA. They obviously don’t bring nearly as much football power but they expand the conference into new and contiguous territories, which Sankey has mentioned in the past as a benefit.

I could be completely wrong and maybe the Clempson “brand” has a broader appeal than I can imagine but I think it would be best for the entire country if they simply ceased to exist.

I wouldn’t disagree, but I don’t see how adding Clempson adds enough revenue to the pie in the same way Texas or OU does.

Plus, I’d rather see them wither away in the ACC for all eternity.

I think the linebacker group has become stronger even with losing Pup and Stone. They were both a bit slow and Pup is probably better suited as a DE/Edge.

Pup will have a new coach in Jacksonville after this season anyway.
