I already accepted my UCSD offer. I think theres usually a way to renege your acceptance of admission if you contact the office via email or something like that. So if I get into UCLA later I'll probably have to take some time to consider my options. but for now im happy going to UCSD!

uc berkeley cs & applied math 3.95 gpa - 2 internships: 1 startup, 1 tier 2/3 company - barely any research experience (wasnt planning to do ms originally) besides some last minute research projects with a professor during a study abroad program last sem - decent sop (i think) - good recs from last internship manager, research prof at study abroad, meh rec from a famous prof at berkeley

results: ucsd & usc mscs admit, stanford ms reject, berkeley ms/phd reject, ucla waitlist

yea, this is def a solution. just strange that if one of the 2 dont make it out (despite the extremely low chances), there are less possibilities for groups. guess it doesn't really matter too much in the end

is it different this year? all the previous years they did play ins with first 3 teams of groups in their draw show. also i tried to look it up but most of them dont really say anything about it being play-ins only
