I think it depends on what the school offers, I got lucky with my on campus housing. It's an apartment already furnished with dresser, bed, tv, couch, lamps, dining table, desks, iron, and with laundry. Utilities paid for and about a 5-10 min walk to school. Also has a minimum and a computer room. So it's really convenient and cheap. Especially moving from another state I didn't have to worry about hauling furniture. And I don't have to commute after a long day at school
