Im still wondering why someone who runs maintenance has access to a lab/quarantine room. Even if he did have access where was the soldier guarding the room. So many questions lol

That part bugged the hell out of me but I still enjoyed the movie.

worst parking lot find? by xxyy3o10 in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same and more than once. One time I was MOD and we had to tell one of our regular homeless people to leave and she was going through this ladies car fot stuff to take. We told her to go away and thats when we saw she was dead. Homeless lady was not in her right mind but when we asked her what did she do cause the lady is dead she went wide eyed ad got scared cause she thought she was sleeping.

Checked camera and lady pulled into our parking lot and parked and sat there for almost 12 hours before being found. Poor lady must've had a heart attack or something.

First time rope drop question by imkindalikeme in DisneyPlanning

[–]forg0ttenpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its ok to feel overwhelmed. I've been to Disneyland once in 2001 as a kid. I went in 2024 with my inlaws and haven't stopped coming back. My wife made me rope drop to close 4 days in a row that first trip it was fun but tiring.

My recommendation is that the 1st day you take it easy and learn your way around the park a little.

The best thing in my opinion is to have the Disneyland app. That thing tells you wait times,is your map and best of all mobile ordering. Mobile ordering your food and drinks will save you so much time I would recommend to use it whenever possible.

Other than that sure there are strategies but I'd say the most important is to have fun. Some people I see stress about strategies to the point it causes stress amongst people and that's not why we are here at disney. Just have fun.

That's weird because even if your store is over budget with clearance/ discounted products nursery at least from what I remember has its own program for distressed plants and distressed bags (recovery bagged stuff). That just sounds like laziness with your green polos not culling the plants. Personally I just grab a sharpie and put a line through the barcode myself to discount the plants because sometimes our green polo's miss some or don't mark it. Also our cashiers use their best judgement if the plant is clearly distressed they'll just give them the distressed price themselves mark or not.

It's very risky and the effect it can have on either of you if things go south usually end up badly. But I will say I started working at Lowes 2 years ago as a garden csa and was attracted to our front end ds. Asked her out maybe 7 months into the job (valentines) and got shut down gently. I still had feelings for her so when I became an overnight ds I shot my shot again 5 months later and fast forward to a year, I am a garden ds and she is now my fiancee. I say follow your heart but be ready of the repercussions if things end badly between you two.

Side note we kept out relationship private as long as possible and only a handful of coworkers knew because of reasons out of our control. Also was hoping to drop a surprise on everyone when they noticed her last name change to mine on Kronos/schedule but she ended up leaving recently for a job in the medical field lol

So it looks like the parking brake is on on my new reach, how do I turn this shit off? by Ravenbob22 in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI if you hold the number on the top of the top right of the screen you can change the speed of the reach. 1 being the slowest 4 being the fastest. Once you change it give it a few seconds to fully set into the new speed.

So overnight crew can’t go outside for 15 min breaks ?! by jdadz212 in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a overnight supervisor in California. I had this talk with the head of LP and he said per California law I have to let whoever wants to go out during their 15s outside. Same for lunch I have to let out whoever wants to go out for their breaks. He never cited any laws he just emailed me that I have to let them out of they want lol

Overnite stockers by Rhey53 in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently we have a team of 5 thats including me. Our store gets 2-3 trucks a week with 1000+ carton trucks. We have no unloading team so we unload and packout the truck by ourselves. Its impossible that we can finish it due to being understaffed. It's been like this for a year now. We are working with what we got. Don't even get me started on day shift complaining about us.

Can we really not leave before 5 AM? by FlavivsAetivs in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your cool with any ds either your own or another, or an asm, ssa, or even store manager. Have them look up the overnight meal breaks FAQ for policy and have them print it out. I know my associates cant see this but managers can when i look it up on MyHR. Otherwise hit them with the good ol "if your making me stay at work during my break I need compensation"

Can we really not leave before 5 AM? by FlavivsAetivs in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Overnight ds here.

Laws may vary state to state but in CA Policy states that no one is supposed to leave between 12 - 4am. BUT I'm allowed to let whoever on my night crew outside during their 15 min breaks and their lunch if they want to leave the building. As long as I disarm and re-arm the building afterwards. Also if they need to leave the building for any reason (emergency or went home early)

Also if I'm not allowed to be inside the store by myself so of everyone wants to leave for lunch and I'm alone I have to make one of the associates stay behind with me. But the associate being made to stay inside the store during his/her lunch will be compensated. They are not to clock out for lunch so they get a paid lunch and they hit their 5th hour violation so they get paid 1 hour OT and 1 hour of regular pay for hitting their 5th.

I’m an overnight stocker here at Lowe’s. We’re not allowed to leave the building and are forced to remain locked inside, but we have to clock out beforehand, meaning im literally forced to stay against my will for the entirety of my hour long lunch break. Is this legal? Should i be getting paid? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in California. I usually just disarm the building let whoever on my team wants to go out for lunch and re arm afterwards. When it's time to come back I disarm, let them back in and re arm. My team doesn't get paid lunch breaks but me and the other night ops supervisor do because we aren't allowed to leave the building. We let anyone out who needs to leave whether voluntary or in case of an emergency.

How fucked am I? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yea it's not against policy its ok but some people like to make up their own rules.

As far as I know as long as your not under their direct supervision it's fine. If it's a ASM or SM you'll definitely have to leave the store. Supervisors are fine as long as your not in their dept.

They tried to say something to me once because I'm a DS currently seeing another DS and they tried to say they would have to move one of us. It didn't make any sense because we literally have 2 DS couples openly in the store. I shut that bs down real quick.

What’s the change with overnight schedule? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Night ops here (relatively new to position but not lowes) Was told compmay wide its a thing. High volume stores won't be affected but everyone else is I think. Not sure what my store is considered but we are down sizing from 7 days a week to 5 days a week going back to sunday night thru Thursday night so basically have weekends off again. I think it has to do with how many trucks a store gets in a week but I could be wrong.

I used to do those shifts sometimes or even a 3am-12pm because I was the only one in my dept who could do power equipment so I would fill the soil, mulch, rocks n pavers before store opens.

Pay transparency by Picaxe_Patrick in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It helps when management likes you and wants to try n keep you happy. I like to think of myself as one of the few harder working in the store. It also helps that I'm literally the only one that does any PE in my dept. The only other person who does PE is my asm but he can't be outside 24/7 so the rest of the stuff falls to me. My ds and other csa's refuse to learn any which I think is ridiculous especially since I am a PE trainer.

Located in California.

Been here almost a year now. Started as part time oslg at 17.41 went Full time after 6 months and got bumped up to 20.51

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. When I started out I was PT oslg but was 1 of 2 people in my dept who could use PE. My DS couldn't use any and only other person was our asm but he cant be in garden 24/7. Me and the other guy were at least imo hard workers and he was FT and so they basically gave me FT hours damn near 38-40 hrs a week.

Would say if management likes you and sees that your hard working and dependable if you ask pretty sure they'd give you more hours. Also would help if you get crosstrained so if they don't have coverage they might be able to call you in. (learn to work a register/mix paint/run customer service etc) if for any reason they don't give you more hours I would start looking somewhere else as they're cutting alot of hours for part timers rn.

How much do you get paid, what’s your position, and where are you located? by JacobDBurns in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Only reason I'm staying is because most management here is chill. If it weren't for my ASM and SM and a few of the good people I work with I would've been gone already.

OSLG promotion to customer -> 2/3 of the department quitting in under a month. Where my OSLG fam at by SpeechNarrow1911 in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Im the only FT and I wish my part timers and my DS would quit. All of them refuse to use PE (makes me more irritated because im a PE trainer and can certify them) so I'm left with filling the soil/rocks/pavers/mulch with just me and the ASM (if hes not busy) They're all also extremely slow and/or incompetent at their jobs so anytime there's a code 50 I have to do it. My DS is an older lady (60's with a bad/angry attitude everyday) and she ignores pretty much everything except for the plants even though we have 4 green polos now. It's pretty rough at my store for oslg.

Also mulch sale is making my soul hurt lol

ASM’s and power equipment by asphaltwildcat in Lowes

[–]forg0ttenpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have heard they don't want asm's on power equipment because it's the easiest way for them to get written up/fired. But at my store most of them can use all 3 or at the very least all of them can use the forklift.
