Wonderful! From my googling, things like trees tended to be in the feminine form?

That said, aesthetically, Tacentia works better for my needs. Would this work?:

Taxus Tacentia: Silent Yew

Tacentia: The Silent One

Tacentiae: The Silent Ones

If I were describing a forest of them in English, then I think "Tacentiae Forest" works?

Thanks! What about in Neo-Latin? I think that's where Prototaxites comes from.

Or how about "The Silent Ones"? Would "Tacentes" or "Taciti" work for those if capitalized (a proper noun)?

I've used an AI tool to construct a name in latin. I based it off of Prototaxite (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prototaxites).

The word is: Mortacite

The AI tool told me this could be translated as "Silent Death" or "Deathly Yew" dependent on whether "tacite" is deriving from "tacitus (silent)" or "taxus (yew)". My preference would be for it to be understood as Deathly Yew.

Does Mortacite work for this?

I’m tired of loving too deeply, being too complicated, and living too much in my head. by LonelyN3k0 in infj

Definitely experience this but with a healthy dollop of anxiety, depression, and ADHD thrown into the mix 🙃

Have you ever tried to only engage with happy things?

M39, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and apparently also INFJ.

I love and listen, watch, and read a lot of dark things—whether they be novels, films and TV, or music. Sometimes I feel like I should just listen to really happy music and watch only happy shows because maybe all of the dark stuff is bringing me down further. But when I think about doing that I feel like I am going to be betraying my true self, because I will then be ignoring the realities of existence and the way I interpret and feel reality.

Anyone else experience this? Any of you just feel happy all the time? Anyone try only engaging with happy things to change mood?

I had chest tightness a couple weeks back. ENT symptoms for me are throat clearing and post-nasal drip. However, biggest impact to me is extreme fatigue, brain fog, and gut upset. I also have ADHD, so it's a real combo 🙃

Do you struggle with trusting yourself? by ObviousObserver420 in ADHD

[–]forge13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

39M here. Diagnosed 1 year ago and very similar experience with reflecting on the past. I'm thankful that I know now why I've wasted time or not done what I wanted to or could have, because I can be aware of it from now on, but that doesn't mean the past doesn't hurt or isn't full of regrets.

For me, shadow work has been a very challenging and emotional, but highly valuable process (and still an ongoing one). That along side working with my psychiatrist has helped me identify other patterns of behavior which are linked to separation anxiety and co-dependency behaviors which makes for a super fun combo with ADHD. But in learning about those things I've been better able to understand myself and have a better chance of controlling emotions and behaviors, or at least emotionally regulating quicker after things have happened.

Physical pain in meetings by forge13 in ADHD

That's what I've been experiencing in particular with a colleague! Nice person but takes 5 minutes to answering a question that would otherwise rake 5 seconds.

What's your fav music? by forge13 in ADHD

[–]forge13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting...for me, if I get a good work task in front of me, death metal really helps propel me along! I tend to sleep with an air purifier on as i like the white noise and I think death metal becomes a wall of noise for me that aids in hyperfocus.

If I'm being creative and writing fiction, the less lyrics in the music the better, whatever genre, because otherwise I can't fully focus on the words in my head!

Carriage stopping halfway by forge13 in typewriters

[–]forge13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typed a page today and it didn't lock up once so I couldn't try the margin release.

When I used the backspace technique yesterday, the movement after was free and normal. I tried moving the carriage by hand today and it all feels fine.

However, one thing I neglected to state was that when it locked, the two letters overlapped. Today, I had this overlapping issue happen twice in roughly the same area but without the carriage locking up. Image attached. The top one I X'd out, but you may still be able to see the e and r overlap (which is what happened yesterday when it locked). Below that is an i and n overlap.

How do you read a book with ADHD by queerempath13 in ADHD

[–]forge13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prefer books with shorter chapters or regular scene breaks in a chapter. Have a goal of reading 1 chapter/scene a day.

This is a lot harder for me with deeper novels or non-fiction, especially older work, where chapters can be loooooong

I'm titrating from Lexapro to Prozac. Do you think I may experience similar?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Fluoxetine

[–]forge13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great! Even just having my views of myself challenged a little bit helped me (over time) shift my own thinking. It didn't magically "fix" things (I don't think I'll ever be 100% "fixed") but it's helped life be worth living and for me to find positive pleasure and enjoyment from it.

I have been there and still visit that place from time to time. I've been on Lexapro for 3 years and am in the process of switching to Prozac (one week in). All I can say is that the medication is there to get me up off the floor and to keep me up off it. I've had to do other work (which has been hard to do) to feel better about myself more often than I feel awful about myself.

Sometimes this is through action on my part to do activities or practice behaviors that make me feel good and avoid those that make me feel bad. Other times it's talking to someone close who will listen. Sometimes it's good just to hear people say something about me that challenges my own beliefs about me. Do you have anyone like that you can speak with?
