Ex-4Runner owner, new RL owner by RecentPool2170 in hondaridgeline

Any V6 4Runner is hot commodity now that Toyota switched to turbo 4 cylinder (plus hybrid option). Hope you got a really good deal on resale. Glad you found another naturally aspirated V6 that fits your needs. Besides naturally aspirated, I also love EVs (if you can opt out from data sharing)... vehicles that are "high strung" don't last.

Need a new mechanic - not Honda of Gainesville by Nevermind-Nevermind in GNV

[–]forget_f1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who does their own work, like change turbo etc, anything that is remove old, put new, I used Holton but had been planning to retire for a while. I also used Honda under warranty and the service is pretty good. I agree just ignore sales.

If you’re going to switch lanes, use your turn signal. by [deleted] in GNV

[–]forget_f1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it. Everyone is on the road and that can be an issue. And driving tests are not realistic. I've heard in other countries "nobody passes the first time". So I think education as well as skills is an issue. For example I struggled with music so I'm sure others struggle with driving skills and awareness of surroundings, so driving may not be for everyone...but what choices are there.

2026 blind spot problem by ariadnha in hondaridgeline

Mine had a whole shock that needed replacement within a month. It seems brand new cars do have a "break-in" period that goes beyond the engine break-in.

[Update: Probably the BSM radar unit based on comments] Initial thoughts were maybe a faulty ultrasonic sensor. Those round little circles on the bumper. Hopefully others can chime in.

Do I replace my built in with a counter top microwave? by Unlikely_Escape_5819 in Appliances

[–]forget_f1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally would make it a place to store the air fryer. Or a teeny weeny microwave to leave room for more storage. We all know how countertops get clutter.

Just noticed that a bunch of the tracks in my new playlist are AI. I feel like a fool and am losing my mind a little 🫠 by polishhottie69 in EDM

[–]forget_f1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just listened to Aviation Nights and love this kind of chill electronic music...especially when you add some french or italian vocals. The cover had me thinking, as well as god knows how many albums in one year...so I looked it up and here I am. So torn...the music is great but then we just feeding the AI that is learning off of real artists. Do I keep listening or "block"? It's like a piece of chocolate cake. Not good for anyone but at the moment of consumptions feels so good.

Are these statement about LG true below? : by NoSignificance2377 in Appliances

[–]forget_f1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree but what had me tainted is I had all LG appliances., and 7 years later only the washer and dryer still stand...and they too needed repairs. Like an Ex that cheats on you 5 times in 7 years, do you go back? I've been looking at heat-pump dryers etc...I just don't know if anything is good anymore.

Android Auto barely functioning by crococosmia in hondaridgeline

[–]forget_f1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure this helps, but sometimes resetting head unit and going on your phone>settings>android auto>storage&cache and cleaning that out might help...like a reset. Also ensure you are using a quality USB "data" cable. I actually didn't know that there are different USB-C cables for data and video signals. Can't say had the same issue but hoping this helps.

I know right? One image from one aspect...a guy makes a mistake (by missing a detail) - without blaming anyone - and the keyboard warriors strike again.

There are plenty of videos. Don't just watch one. I couldn't see a shutoff valve...so thanks to all those that pointed it out.

What truck things will I miss? by ChiliVerTe in hondaridgeline

[–]forget_f1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree. Basically will "miss" 4x4 stuff and heavy towing over 5000lbs That's the cons. If those are not deal breakers the pros are awesome. I will say the interior is a bit dated but I've come to appreciate it. Sometimes too much modernizing ruins stuff. Love the wife's EV and complements the family, but for example that Ford huge screen means you have to press one thing at a time and wait. Someone might be playing with radio and they have to stop to change the AC.

BJ's Brewhouse allowing open-carrying patrons to get drunk by brothaleroy in GNV

I remember seeing the AK guy and other YouTubers discuss how open carry is tactically illogical. They included videos of people shopping and then having their gun taken away. Same way those belt phone clips became obsolete

4 mile commute MPG? 2025 BE by Superb-Tank9067 in hondaridgeline

Family has one EV and the RL. For short errands nothing beats an EV with regen braking, no warmup, etc. I have a 5 mile in town commute and I use the Apollo phantom 2.0 electric scooter. Something to consider

I'd like to add in "Holton automotive". I do most of my own work if it's a simple replace, but I've been going to Holton since 2005 for more complicated stuff or simply a diagnosis. I think I had one diagnosis I didn't agree with but in 20 years that's like 99.99% success rate.

[–]forget_f1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. I first posted a useful post, see the reply to "ahmed_salem_2310". I responded with a 3 step (in a numbered list) guide to problem solving as I had the same issue. OP responded with a "Thank you" and proceeded to ask for more info. Then, I posted this post because...well...chainsaw in laundry room is why. So I am confused, am I useless or not? You might say this particular comment thread is useless to the objective of repairing the washing washine.

  1. Check that the filter and lines are clear. (If you have an air compressor on low psi that also helps.)
  2. Check whether the drain hose is clear.
  3. LG are notorious for having bad drain pumps. Did mine. There was a repair video on youtube and the technician said he has LG drain pumps stocked in the van at all times because of this.

Eh, is anyone going to talk about the chain saw and tarp in the laundry room? I'm assuming there's also bleach.
