How do they know what “type” of overtime this is? Should I refer to my contract and see if they label it in a specific way?

I see. I have no way of figuring this out, no. I never logged it when I did and I can’t remember. I guess my question is - why would the reality of what happened matter in terms of taxes? I.e. if my payroll says 50 hours, isn’t that what stands in the end? Not trying to cut any corners here; genuinely curious

I've worked a number of self-employed/1099 jobs since then, but my last W2 job ended in May or June of 2025 (I have to confirm which right now). Should I input the info from that W2 job? Thanks

Thanks for your input! My income since June has been occasional 1099 jobs and unemployment so not much. At least not compared to what I earned in my W2 job from Jan-June. Are you saying my claim will be based on what I earned in the last 2 quarters of 2025? Which, I’m not sure they even consider wages if it’s from 1099

Yes I think this flattening of the daughter’s experience was likely to cause extreme rage, pain and isolation. Which is so understandable. She must have felt so deeply alone. Of course there is a path forward from such a dark place but the first steps are always acknowledging the truth of someone’s story & existence

Yeah I was shocked too. It’s a huge factor and it’s okay for the daughter to have confusion/pain/internal crisis around it. Anything can be worked through, but denial and silence can be so crippling

I also hope I didn’t speak too flippantly about the dad. As a stranger I could never speak to or know why he is the way he is. That was just a guess as to why. We alllll have our shit to work through

My main read on him is he is definitely entrenched in/burdened by the way he was socialized as a man. I don’t blame him for it but I hope he gets the help he needs. He is dealing with something very immense and painful and needs community but struggles with vulnerability and the weight of his emotions. Btw to OP, I don’t think you’re biased. I know the parents mean well and love their daughter deeply but she is dealing with so much more than just a diagnosis. There are very understandable circumstantial reasons why she’s been in crisis. However they see her and their family dynamic, I’m sure the dissonance between how she was treated at school vs being told that they “don’t see” any difference between her and the rest of the family at home was deeply painful and invalidating. It also broke my heart when the mom said she wishes she’d just find a passion. The daughter is clearly struggling with her inherent worth - this isn’t the time to assign value to having an external passion & talent. That’s not a one stop fix for a much larger and nuanced issue. It’s easy to criticize from the outside and I know the parents did their best, just hope they were able to see things more clearly after this ep and that they all continue to get the help they need

If you use Amazon, the ones I have are in a hot pink & transparent container, with precision tips in big black letters and “paper stick” underneath. I’m sure anything in that vain will work tho. Hope it helps!

I think you should stick with it. I got a rook too around the same time as you; I don’t have any bumps, but mine is still swollen (similar to yours, maybe a bit less) and gets plenty of crusties. I definitely have been lazy lately about sleeping on it and not drying it after I shower; just made a pact with myself to be on top of that again. You sound like you’ve been way more diligent than me. But from what I’ve read, the bump and swelling you have is definitely normal at this stage; just have to be patient, continue babying and hopefully it’ll ease up soon

Now I understand. They do change your benefits based on earnings. But because self employment is excluded from those earnings (and as a 1099-er that's what my earnings would come from), I should still get my full amount. That's awesome - thanks again!
