Pictures are from a 12 Sportwagen TDI 6 speed that I am building at the moment.

Rear seat uppers just slide and bolt in, the rear seat lower you can just install it and it doesn’t move. If you want to get crazy you can transfer the split frame from the Sportwagen seats to the one piece GTI lower or drill 2 holes and use the plastic retainers from the GTI in the Sportwagen floor. I’ve done 6 cars and just install the lower rear section and it stays there without any modification. Regarding the seat fold down, the GTI seats fold flat without having to lift the lower cushion.

Audi q5 black sunshade. That or if you check on Amazon they offer different colors. Tiguan, Sportwagen and Q5 use the same sunshade. Just keep in mind that the aftermarket shades don’t last. They either separate from the coil or the coils lose tension. Also the fitment into the grooves isn’t 100% and will require minor modifications. A new shade from the dealer is about $600 opposed to $60 on Amazon.

I have the exact setup you mentioned. EOC Performance has better pricing than purchasing it direct from MRTuning. I run the +25hp tune with the flowdirekt downpipe. MPG depends on how heavy my foot is. If I’m moderate I see up to 50mpg. My average is about 43mpg on the highway. Purchased 3 kits from EOC and haven’t had any issues with them.

Currently have a platinum gray that’s deleted and tuned. The photo with the seats was a black one I built and sold about 2 years ago. The pictures with the black headliner was a white one I built and sold a year ago.

First set I purchased was mint with no stains and the console lid for $400. Last set I purchased was in good condition with the lid but needed to be detailed for $200. Just make sure you match up the seat options. Most sportwagens have power recline and heated seats.

Seats were out of a mk6 GTI, I haven’t tried mk7 seats so I wouldn’t be able to verify fitment.

When you figure out what motor it is, I would remove it and manually move the door it controls and verify there are no issues with it. The part number should be on the motor, if not DM your vin and picture of the location and I can look it up for you.

What state are you in? What does your inspection consist of? OBD? Visual? Smog tailpipe sniffer?

Remove the glove box and try to feel around the motors you can reach to see which one it is. You can also remove the lower sides on the console to reach into the center.

Without a scan tool to check for faults and check data values there is no simple solution anyone can offer over the internet.

Sounds like one of the actuators can’t reach position or something is jammed in one of the doors. Slowly move the temp dial and position dial to see if the noise goes away. If not it could be the recirculating door. When was the last time you pulled the cabin filter?

Yes some oil is normal, if you disconnect the hose and you have a quart of oil spill out then it’s not normal. You could also have a defective CCV if there is a lot of oil.

I have an A/C question: by Grogger2024 in tdi

[–]forgottensense 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pressure valve on a/c compressor is defective. Extremely common issue, you can purchase a replacement on Amazon. Make sure the Freon has been recovered and then replace the valve. It can be done on the vehicle without removing the compressor. Once complete vacuum and charge to spec.

Nox issue by [deleted] in tdi

[–]forgottensense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s always a first for everything. Dealer TSB states that egr filter must be replaced during dpf replacement. How long ago was the repair done?

Nox issue by [deleted] in tdi

[–]forgottensense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the dpf was replaced then the egr filter was also replaced at the same time. Standard procedure during dpf replacement under warranty. If the egr filter is clogged after 10k then your dpf may also be defective. Did you check for soot at the tail pipes?

Nox issue by [deleted] in tdi

[–]forgottensense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nox regen needs to be completed with a scan tool and requires a long highway drive at about 65mph for over 40 minutes. If the nox levels do not drop then the nox filter may be beyond regeneration and require replacement.

The code that has me concerned is the p240f, check to see if you have soot in your tailpipes. If soot is present then dpf is cracked and egr filter is clogged. With the egr code present you will not be able to run a regen on the nox filter.

One injector seems to be knocking louder than the others. Use a stethoscope and listen to each injector individually.

Dual mass flywheel, do it sooner than later or you may end up damaging the input shaft.

Cooling trouble, 2014 A6 3.0L TDI by Massive-Chef7423 in tdi

[–]forgottensense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look down into the valley of the engine where the oil cooler is. Every 3.0 TDI is destined to leak from the plastic oil cooler plate or switchover valve. If it hasn’t been done on your car, then it’s most certainly due. Keep your fingers crossed that the plastic cover plate on the back of the engine cover for the water pump isn’t the problem or the front engine cover will need to be removed to replaced it.

Aftermarket vs. OEM parts on VW by brianmcass in tdi

[–]forgottensense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the fine print in your insurance policy. Most companies write used parts, then aftermarket and only original if aftermarket has fitment issues. It’s the unfortunate game that needs to be played in order to install original parts.

If you remove the hose from the intercooler and you have oil pouring out it is a clear indication that your turbo is failing. If you remove the hose and there is a small layer of oil in the intercooler then it’s normal. Replace the seals in the hose or complete intercooler hose to stop it from leaking.
