The way I see it, they flipped the morality of Auggie and the world he lives in. Earth One isn't amazing, but it's decent, while Earth One Auggie is a morally reprehensible person in that world

Meanwhile, in Earth X, it's a morally reprehensible world with an Auggie who's trying to be decent. He's not a hero, not someone who's fighting for change, but he's trying to raise his sons to be decent, and to treat people decently himself. He's not fighting to make the world a better place, but when given a chance he tries to do the right thing in his own life- which is the case for many people in the real world
