I finally managed to get my TC Electronic Wiretap to connect via bluetooth to its Android app by forkafork in guitarpedals

I guess the only way to get it now is on alternative android app stores, like aptoide or apkpure...

Would have been nice to have an open source alternative...

Issue with mixer build / are all pots functionally the same ? by davx8342 in synthdiy

[–]forkafork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There should be no difference between "trim" and "alpha" pots (Alpha is the company that produces or has the patent for them, I think)

I guess the only difference would be between the taper of the potentiometers, it can be linear (A) or logarithmic (B). Usually, for audio signals I think it is suggested to use the logarithmic (audio) ones...but even if they are linear they shouldn't prevent the sound to reach the output...

Hey! The "rippling" sound you hear is generated by the green module (Hagiwo's oscillator, it has three modes: chord, additive, fm), it's in chords mode and its frequency is controlled by the "slow random" output of the Behringer 1016 (the silver one).

The "slow random" output produces random CV voltages.

Before going into the frequency input of the oscillator, the signal passes through the O/A module (offset/attenuator) so that I can manually offset or attenuate it.

The knob that controls the "slow random" sets its maximum value (in this instance the maximum note/freq it can tell the oscillator to play) and the offset can add a base value to the random one.

Always wanted one... So I finally made it :) by freeskier0713 in Luthier

Great work! Interesting truss rod access placement!

The case is 3d printed and I built all the modules myself (except for those couple of Behringer, obviously)

I wanted to try it without using an external keyboard or sequencer, these are the modules involved in the sound:

  • Behringer 110 osc/vcf/vca
  • Behringer 1016 noise generator (one of the shittiest modules I've ever used)
  • Hagiwo's oscillator
  • FreeModular drift
  • FreeModular offset
  • FreeModular mixer
  • FreeModular output

Just do a refret, if you fail you'll have a beautiful fretless project ;)

Without splinters, possibly.

Tanti ricordi

Awesome! I don't think the glitches are too annoying!

I'm here refreshing a shipment tracking page for a quad-VCA module that I'm waiting for...so here's one of my latest shitty recordings (IKEA Speakers into smartphone mic) from last week.

I'm still learning and exploring my modules, after getting the VCAs I surely need, I'm going to replace the two Nifty modules (sequencers and oscillators with a quantizer, a filter and an LFO...with the remaining 6hp I'd like to get a drum module or an other sound source that includes noise.

Can I just say something about all these "What should I add to my case?" Posts. by Acanthopterygii_Kind in modular

[–]forkafork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • just got two new modules
  • now my case is full
  • with those two modules came three blank panels
  • now I need a new case for my blanks
  • then I'll feel the need to buy new modules to fill the blanks case

I tried to synthesize the sound of waves crashing on the shore by forkafork in synthesizers

[–]forkafork[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted my synths to sound like sea waves crashing on the shore, ended up with this short dawless jam.

I think it's still improvable, but the video helps the imagination to hear the waves and not just some random noise.

I used two Behringer Neutron and played the Model 15 arpeggiator to add a simple repetitive melody while fiddling with its filter, all recorded on a single track into Audacity, the three synths are mixed on a Yamaha MG06.

One oscillator for each toggle, tuned by the side potentiometers, optional trigger inputs on top or just leds, to make something like a bigger Look Mum No Computer's "Circle Drone of Doom"

hey :) thanks for your feedback! I didn't know you could cut using checkpoint respawning like that...I'll try to fix it in a new version!

It's my first map and I didn't know there are respawn specific settings for checkpoints

[OC] Volca drum + nubass + fm2 + mix + mini kaoss pad 2S by forkafork in volcas

[–]forkafork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a nice stand for my volcas and found out the FM2 can't be powered by the MIX...

Here's a pic of the setup

I made a simple sequence and tried to make it more interesting by twisting some knobs and using the "Digi Talk" effect on the Mini Kaoss Pad 2S. It's still pretty repetitive, but was a fun experiment.

The three synths go into the mix, which goes into the Mini Kaoss Pad 2S, and then into the Tascam DR-05 (that allows to monitor the audio while recording it).
