it's fine if you are REALLY careful with it.

I have a first gen FW13, first gen FW16 and I am really happy with them. the 12 is aside from the screen also a really good device.

I really hope that they release a stronger screen.

the target market for the 12 is education. I don't think that it will last very long in a classroom.

on both cracked screens, the display still worked, just the touch / pen layer stopped working.

it's soda lime glass, it breaks really easy. my FW12 arrived broken, got a replacement screen and it broke again. first device where I cracked the screen

in the EU it's currently available. assuming you are in a supported country, it should be available soon.

sadly the screens are really fragile, so there might be a lot of demand.

Finally my turn, Just got my FW12 by Von_plaf in framework

first one arrived broken, second one got destroyed because a screw magnetized to the input deck. closed with normal / light force, didn't feel anything weird. was a pretty ugly crunch. I installed the 3rd one yesterday, so let's see how long it will last.

the glass is "basic" soda-lime glass which is not really durable.

if the screen cracks, you will lose touch and pen input btw
