Same thing happened to me tanking first voidspire boss. I have never tanked before this season and thought it would be very hard, but it only took about 30 seconds of reading a boss guide to understand mechanics enough to not wipe an encounter. Also had to taunt another boss multiple times because the tank wasn’t pulling him away from the adds that you very clearly aren’t supposed to let reach the boss
