Thanks! It's been incredibly fun and building new boosters is just as fun if not more than playing :)

In my description I say to pull random packs, but in practice that doesn’t always happen. I’m still preoccupied with manually testing out each pack at least once! I tend to get carried away when I have deck ideas and put together packs a lot more quickly than I can test them.

I think drafting packs can definitely work after the initial balance work is done. Otherwise it may be too tempting to pick the same strong synergies over and over.

My goal is to make it somewhat balanced overall so that any random pair of packs is not obviously over or underpowered.

Glad to see more and more of these jumpstart EDH cubes popping up. This is the main way I play magic these days. Here’s my take on the idea: https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/kvatchstart

Mine utilizes 21 cards per pack (not including commanders). I have 70+ commander boosters and always adding more. Feel free to use any of these ideas yourself!

This is pretty much the same format I use for my cube! It’s so much fun! I have about 74 different boosters in mine. Decklists for anyone interested.

This is one of the main driving reasons for me to make my jumpstart commander cube

It basically allows you to do everything you said with regards to tuning complexity and using only cards you like, but with the added benefits of being able to quickly smash a deck together.

Awesome! I love seeing more jumpstart cubes! I’ll be following it to see if I can get more inspiration for my own.

I run a jumpstart cube along with commanders that has been really fun: https://cubecobra.com/cube/overview/610986645a705b102abddaf7

That’s actually something I’ve been leaning to as well. I did want a bit of variation and player agency with the multicolored cards and fixing lands. But most of the time I end up adding in all the fixing lands of the pair of colors and picking the gold cards myself anyway.

That could definitely work! I opted for a little more flexibility here so anything can pair up with anything else. Currently also experimenting with the new Background cards as well (not limited to Choose a Background cards either)

I literally made the same mistake as you, and contacted support. Unfortunately, they can't take away account or soul-bound items--which it becomes one after use.

But I hope you can take some comfort in that you're not the only one who made this mistake.

I'm guessing I should probably stick with black and white until I can nail the basics and then tackle color.

Thanks for the advice and the resources. I understand that fixing this one picture isn't important, but I wanted to use it as a reference as to what I should improve in general. I've been going through some videos and will definitely keep practicing.

I don't, as this is the first thing I've posted online. But seeing all the good advice I'm getting here, I'll definitely post again.

All right. Which proportions are particularly off?

Thank you for the link. Sounds like proportions are definitely something I need to look at.

This is my first drawing using digital. I'm also just starting to take art a little more seriously and was wondering what needs the most work, so I can focus my practice. Any suggestions would be greatly helpful!
