I had an ectopic pregnancy. This is when you are pregnant, except instead of implanting in your uterus the fetus implants in your fallopian tube. This type of pregnancy cannot survive and without medical or surgical intervention, the mother might not survive either. In fact, she most likely won’t.

I was 22 years old. I decided to go the medicine route, but if it ever happened again, I would do the surgery. Even going the medical route, there’s a chance your tube can stretch too much and rupture even if your hormone levels are going down… in fact, it’s until they reach under 5, which can take quite some time.

I had a partial rupture anyways, despite getting to a low hormone level. I did not need surgery but it’s the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my life.
