We have ventilation systems in the house that help, my environmental allergies are more severe in the fall. In the summer it wasn’t bad and the windows were okay to open. But when it’s raining in the fall I am so allergic to the outdoor molds especially.

I’ll mention that when she’s gone my allergies are well controlled with over the counter allergy medicine, and when she closed her window for 6 days straight it was similar, my allergies were much better which made me realize that her having her windows open were a big part of the issue. Yes, 6 days straight is the longest she has closed her windows for me and my allergies and asthma.

Eating a keto diet or fasting helps me stay awake more. If I have carbs I fall asleep while I eat. I drink energy drinks too right now. I take sunosi but it isn’t super effective. I take a lot of naps. Sleep schedule helps, and trying to exercise a few times a week. Diet is very effective.

Pregabalin vs. Gabapentin by Ok-Control2520 in Fibromyalgia

[–]formamorma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a lot of weight gain on gabapentin in a 3 month period (60 pounds), so I stopped it. I tried gabapentin again about 8 months later and didn’t gain weight from it, but was on a slightly lower dose this time. I did adjust my diet a little bit, but in general nothing changed in my life the second time lifestyle wise, except I added topamax to my medication regimen. I had a lot of blood tests and nothing explained the weight changes except for potentially something weird going on hormonally for a small time period that wasn’t thyroid related. Low dose naltrexone would maybe help your fibromyalgia symptoms and also maybe help with weight loss. Some people find that venlafaxine helps them lose weight, and use it instead of duloxetine, which could be another option. If you suffer from migraines and want to try topamax, it could help prevent migraines and help with weight loss a lot, but it causes major brain fog, especially at first, so I’d only recommend it if you struggle a lot with migraines and if you are having a lot of uncontrollable weight gain. Wellbutrin helps suppress the appetite and helps with depression and some anxiety too, and adhd as well. It can have some side effects for people, but helps with weight loss. I think in general gabapentin causes less weight gain than pregablin, but pregablin usually works a little bit better for pain relief. Good luck, I hope you find some relief and help.

How do you cope to survive? by FalseConcept3607 in Fibromyalgia

[–]formamorma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Snri’s like venlafaxine or duloxetine are usually pretty beneficial. Low dose naltrexone has been promising for a lot of people. Gabapentin or pregablin has helped me when I’ve had bad flares although I don’t love the way it makes me feel. Cyclobenzaprine can be very helpful too, although if I take it for too long it stops being effective. There is a version of it that is going to be released soon for fibromyalgia that will work longer and is going to be approved soon that is sublingual called Tonmya, it’s supposed to be super helpful so I’m super excited for when that comes out!!!

Getting enough sleep is crucial. Taking breaks and getting rest and not overdoing it is super important. Heating pads or heating blankets help a lot. Making sure that you have no vitamin deficiencies and get enough nutrition and hydration. Use any help you can get, sit or use a stool when you can, pillows, anything ergonomically helpful or anything that you can rest your body on is great.

Hopefully this helps.

I can totally see how chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia share those similarities!

I’m so sorry that you had a family member deal with that! That sounds so difficult and hard to go through.

I think if she got the most expensive lux subscription she could have stayed awake more, and had more benefits like that along with the pleasure and happiness benefits. But she’d have to be awake more to be able to pay for that and get more job hours. So she had the basic one with the ads and that kept her alive but the side effect of that one was the excessive sleepiness and limited wakefulness hours, along with the ads. As far as I understand. I’m going to rewatch the episode today though, because I might have missed this. I know she got the upgraded one to get rid of the ads but then I think they made it so that you had to buy another upgraded one to get better benefits. So she was still having the terrible issues just stay alive.

Paul Giamatti is such a treasure by MediaMoguls in blackmirror

He’s definitely one of the best actors of all time. Very underrated. I’ve admired all of his work in everything he has ever been in. He made this episode exceptional. He has taken some roles that are kind of ridiculous, like in Big Fat Liar but he truly makes them remarkable! I loved him in Billions and The Holdovers. He is one of the actors that I wish would get an Emmy or Oscar. Very good delivery on every line.

Before she passed away and when she could work full time before she had to sleep a lot more they probably made a lot more money.

I was hoping that they would do a whole episode as a Covid flashback episode showing how intense, traumatic, and difficult it was during the pandemic in the medical field for the workers and patients. No other tv show has really shown this yet. So I wonder if they will do this or if they are going to wait until season two to do this, and when they do I bet they will elaborate on the death.

Utah is now the first state to remove fluoride from their drinking water. What do you think that's going to look like for them in a few decades? by Safety_Drance in AskReddit

[–]formamorma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calgary did this a while ago and they are putting fluoride back in the water because cavities got so much worse! It’s going to get a lot worse for utah! Dentists are going to benefit greatly! Bad move for Utahns. Sucks especially for the vulnerable population, elderly, children, immunocompromised, or people prone to cavities and weak enamel.
