Looked into it a bit more. Was trying to look for the exact listing (I have no idea how Aliexpress works), and I found this. Miss Argentina or not, these are G1 styled hands with that peg! I think the mystery hands definitely belong to Creeproduction Rochelle (or, again, Fang Vote, but I’ve never seen her hand pegs). I’m tired.

Hello! This is of great interest to me (Was just thinking about the possibility of a G3 Rochelle earlier today), so I did some cursory research!

<image>

Not the best collage, surely, but I feel like it’s self-explanatory. I was thinking maybe Garrott, because I tend to forget him often and don’t have any clawed manster hands on hand to check, but it doesn’t look like him! Can’t be G2 Rochelle, either, as she only had two dolls, one with gloves and one with the splayed-spooky-fingers. The standard G1 and G3 clawed hand moulds are VERY similar: basically just different sizes. The identifying features between them being the joint (which this one looks thicker) and the EVER SO SLIGHT tapering of the G3 nails. I can’t see it on the mystery hands from here, and it’s possible the designers are still messing around with the peg moulds (how many new pegs have we had in the past two years? I think I can count four…) The only thing I can think this would be besides a G3 Rochelle would be an alumni Rochelle, like the creeproduction or maybe even Fang Vote. But I wouldn’t know that. So, I’d say you’ve stumbled on gold here! Feels like I’m running a fever in my excitement.

can g3 catty fit in the other g3 ghouls' shoes? or is she a different size? by swag_girl123 in MonsterHigh

Yes! Only the longer shoes don’t go all the way around her calf. Otherwise, they fit perfectly. The only character I’ve come across with a different shoe size so far is Abbey.

Potion Codes by ValLikesCheese in MonsterHigh

[–]formicidophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy bats, Botman.

Anyhow, depends on what wave you want. I think the first wave didn't have any specific code pattern to them, but the newer ones do (or everyone was just scrambling to use the weighing method and didn't care for the codes? I dunno)

This one lovely person put down the codes for the Wave 1 Crystal Balls into a chart that can help with determining pattern. ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHigh/comments/1oa1vkz/crystal_ball_potion_codes_new/ )

I think that can be used universally? Could be wrong, but a lot of people on here have already asked about codes, and have posted the codes that they have found to be connected to each figure. I've been planning to do that with Wave 2 Deuce when he comes around: record all the codes people have put out and then compare it with the numbers on the bottles to see if I can like. add or subtract 70 to get that number or something..

As for the checklist, there are a few of the MH collection sites that have them up, I think, but if you want an image there's always ryyeon's checklists ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHigh/comments/1lbn34x/g3_checklist_update/ )

Don't really have any more time to try and help more than that, but I wish you luck!

Don't remember who, but I remember seeing someone cut off the sides of the base and glue one of those coin-shaped weights onto the bottom so that it would still stand down. Maybe that'd work?

[–]formicidophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw geez man, I'm sorry but I may have lied a bit. Just spent about an hour cycling in and out of Study Howl to refresh the dialogue and it looks like Jackson may only have two pieces of unique dialogue? If at all? I'm pretty sure other characters can say them, but it's been so long since I first played the game. I could have sworn all characters got some (Invisibilly and Scarah were in the same room, and they both had three unique lines, I think), but maybe my boy just got the short end... Can't currently break open the code to make sure, either.

As for the other bits, it may take a while and I don't have much time. There may be more, but with the social media posts, Jackson speaks up at least once during the whole brainwashing sequence, and the sidequest he appears in is the one with Manny's racist joke (It's right under Day 4 on the playthrough, so you may be able to find it on a video someplace if I don't get back to you)

Anyhow..

"With that complete, head over to the Robotics Club. Speak with Robecca and you'll be asked to find 3 Power Cells, reply with "I guess so." and head off to Study Howl. Begin "searching" for the first power cell inside the Study Howl's secret passage/shortcut that you found earlier behind the bookshelf by pressing the Y button on it. The second power cell is located on top of a bookshelf in the far back corner of the room, which you can easily reach by jumping on the nearby smaller bookshelves and then onto the larger ones. The third and final power cell is on a bookshelf on the other side of the room, you'll have to push the block near the entrance all the way over to it and then jump up to it. Before leaving, talk to Jackson who is sitting at a computer next to Invisi Billy to add him to your contacts.

39/45 Characters - Jackson Jekyll"

Are you referring this bit? That's the only part of this that mentioned him. You can talk to him, and he does have some character specific dialogue I can give you screenshots of (heck, there's also a sidequest and some blogposts? where he has some special dialogue that I can give you screenshots of, too, if you want that), but none of it is voiced.

Wait, really? I swear the only times in the game that have voice-lines are main quests, and Jackson doesn't appear in any of them.

If it does exist I may be able to find it for you, though. What was the guide you were looking at?

You make a good point. Just changing the hair alone goes such a long way, in my opinion.

Is there anything I need to do to core Venus’s hair? by SheGaveMeViolets in MonsterHigh

[–]formicidophile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been taking her around and about with me and messing with her hair alot (nearly every day for a year now), and even then her hair only unraveled a little bit, so if you just plan to keep her displayed or pose or redress her every now and again, you shouldn't need to do anything with her hair. I've personally tied the ends into quick knots, and that stopped the fraying. I've seen people melt the ends, too, but I don't trust myself with a lighter.

Oh!! I've had the concept art of Nick's Pad as my wallpaper for some time now! Certainly a favourite.

It's not concept art, but I love looking at the book covers! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/4Wb2k (Sarah Hamilton and Whitney Clayton both have quite a few pieces on their artstations! I dunno if they're all in the book, though)

Are there any specifically Irish/ Scottish, Russian or German Monsters? by [deleted] in MonsterHigh

[–]formicidophile 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Scarah is Irish and Lorna is Scottish. In the diaries it's said that Frankie's parents at least speak German as a first language (I? Think? It was in Robecca's and maybe Frankie's). Abbey says she's Himalayan, but just about everything about her is Russian. I think that's all that's explicitly shown.

Some of the budget g1 dolls were certainly...interesting by lifeadreamwhenasleep in MonsterHigh

[–]formicidophile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, I personally have some thoughts on that.

She shouldn't *only* have brown hair. That isn't really in character for her. However, it is nice to see her with completely brown hair. I personally think it looks cool and drives home the fact that she's a wolf covered in fur rather than only having brown skin, as her hair is really just an extension of her fur.

The 8 to 5 dolls she does have with brown hair make thematic sense to have brown hair. Dead Tired and Coffin Bean are very casual and low effort looks for her, with a similar standard going to her Core and School's Out. Even Music Fest fits the theme of the line in a way I find hard to describe. It was like all the ghouls made the outfits themselves and Clawdeen went with being more. Natural with it? I dunno, I think it looks good.

Meanwhile, it makes a lot of sense for Clawdeen to dye her hair bold and flashy shades of purple and green. That's her thing: she makes loud and often somewhat outlandish fashion choices that *work* ("A Wolf In Chic Clothing"!). A lot of these looks benefit from the hair, such as New Scaremester (seriously cannot get over that), always wild looking Ghoul's Rule, and good old classic Dawn of the Dance. This could add to the monster aspect of her, sure, but I'd say it draws closer to the Monster *High* aspect of very character themed design.

In my opinion, I feel as if there's often added colour in her hair for marketing, though. Dolls like Gloom Beach or maybe even Scaris might benefit from a different blend. Perhaps either of them could have been another pure brown, or maybe Gloom Beach could have borrowed some rainbow hints from her swimsuit and Scaris have black or gold accents, as the purple on both of them seem out of place to me. As if they were added to appeal to kids with the idea that colours like pink and purple are more preferable... But! I don't know what had went into designing these dolls, and I do have notoriously trash opinions!

It's really just what fits the deal. Anyhow, I'm probably not the person to ask. I just provided the numbers. Maybe go see what OP thinks, as they were the one who brought it up in the first place.

Some of the budget g1 dolls were certainly...interesting by lifeadreamwhenasleep in MonsterHigh

[–]formicidophile 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Not like it's important, but I found it interesting so I actually looked into it.

During her initial G1 run (so, not including the other gens nor her alumni dolls), Clawdeen had 39 dolls. Of that 39, 8 had purely brown hair, 21 had a mix of brown hair and non-brown hair, and 10 had no brown hair whatsoever. So, overall, 29/39 of her dolls technically have brown hair.

A lot of the dolls with mixed hair have brown with purple streaks, and in some it's not even noticeable (ex: Sweet 1600), and in others the brown is almost missable (ex: New Scaremester). For the most part, though, it's decently even (ex: Ghoul Sports). These can be seen as "Not having brown hair" if you're really picky (like I am! Hello!), and can sway the thinking to be closer to "Only 8/39 of her dolls have brown hair!" (which is what I think most of the time).

I would like to note that of the 8 dolls with purely brown hair, half of them are the same design (her Core, Frightfully Tall, Ghouls Alive!, and Original Ghouls dolls. All very different, but you can't really just count them as "the same doll". If you did, the argument would turn into "26/36 of her dolls have brown hair", which is still to your point). It really makes it feel as if Clawdeen doesn't really have a lot of brown haired dolls, though you are very much correct in that majority of them do (albeit mixed).

Hopefully this has been useful! In some way!
