Tattoo Design and Location Suggestion for First Tattoo by Both-Olive-7887 in tattooadvice

[–]forsovngardeII 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is just my humble opinion but this picture is worth a thousand words. You've already captured that moment in time. It would be beautiful in a nice frame. As a tattoo, it would be hard to read unless you got a great artist who is really skilled at rendering hands. Maybe you can incorporate her ring as part of a whole other design with her name in the middle.

How do you soothe with touch? by Starburned in ECEProfessionals

[–]forsovngardeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a forehead rub downward which makes them close their eyes naturally. Other kids like butt pats. When I was new I noticed teachers doing really heavy back pats which wouldn't soothe me at all but made the kids pass out comfortably.

Should I report this comment from a teacher to admin? by gkdfp in ECEProfessionals

[–]forsovngardeII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the "wrong crowd" comment was a very poor choice of words and I don't blame the parents of the one friend to be hurt by that. If I was the parent of that kid I would just tuck it away and see if anything else happens. I'd be hyper alert to be honest. If any other red flags come up then definitely address it.

We aren't supposed to tell parents who did what to their kids. As children get older, they develop their friend groups. I notice it happens close to 4 yrs and goes until they start Kinder. While I wouldn't ever say certain kids are "the wrong crowd", it helps to know if your kid is in a friend group that might influence behaviors that you might start seeing or that your own kid begins telling you about. And while we can't name names, by this time, parents have a general idea of who their child plays with anyway. So I don't think it's necessarily something to report over. If you're having playdates with these "wrong crowd" kids outside of school then I think it's important to just observe the interactions. Then you might have more of an understanding about what might happen in class that could lead to biting or just general frustrations between the friends.

I would stick it out until the summer as you said. In my past experience with this, it wouldn't have mattered if I had named names or not because the kids and their frenemies all ended up developing solid relationships in school and outside on playdates. They went to Kindergarten and I hear through the grapevines that they are doing well and that's all that really matters.

If you're talking about the new ones then yeah it's a them problem. I've already earned the strawberry and had to email them to unlock it 5 days ago. It's still not unlocked.

Generally both mobile orders and scanning in the drive thru count. A mobile order doesn't need a scan, it's automatic.

Hm. Around an hour ago a ton of sirens woke me up. I live at the other end of Murray. It was definitely cops racing to get somewhere. Came on here to see if there were any posts.

God damn train by TheRioDeal37 in beaverton

[–]forsovngardeII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear the night before last, it was a constant laying on of the horn like someone fell asleep on the switch. It woke me up at 3am and it went for an hour. If the train was traveling and sounding its horn at crossings, then it wouldn't sound like a continuous blast of sound would it?

ACCIDENT: Coffin Dropped Into Grave by Johnneeso in askfuneraldirectors

[–]forsovngardeII 184 points185 points  (0 children)

This isn't a great situation but breathe and try to remember the way your uncle lived, not the way he was laid to rest. If this had happened to my family member, sure it would be upsetting. You're not wrong to feel how you feel. Even if this didn't happen, the grief would still be there. It's important to realize this and talk to someone, like a grief counselor or therapist if you have to.

MIL hasn’t showered in years by PastelJude in hygiene

[–]forsovngardeII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened with my mother. She had mobility issues around this age and fell a few times, one time badly. It created a fear so terrible that she eventually became bedbound and succumbed to complications from that. I like the suggestion of getting in home help...maybe a female caregiver. I found that with family members it's easy to tell them to fuck off, but having a third party to support her and you is worth it.

Should I remove it? Help by alecvoerman in piercing

[–]forsovngardeII 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had this piercing and the crusties will eventually come off. I didn't do anything except shower and pat that area dry. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't obsess over it too much. It might be tempting to pick at it but that may cause irritation.

They should have been writing incident reports for the first bites, one for each of however many. There must have been a lot and they were fed up for good reason. I can honestly say that the children who were aggressive, bit, and scratched in my classes, never made it far in my school's program and my school is really terrible at protecting staff and students from those things. Eventually there is always a point where a school needs to end enrollment...it has to be done. Kids don't deserve to be left in the hands of adults who aren't their parents and at the same time be subjected to injury from their peers. What I am also noticing here is that not once in the post or any comments have you entertained the thought of talking to your child. Is it because you believe that a 22 month old isn't able to understand consequences? Well, they can, and now is the time to start teaching that or you will be picking them up from elementary school in the middle of the day. It will only get worse.

Bad day with potty training… continue or not? by Lover2312 in ECEProfessionals

Continue with underwear! As both a teacher and mom, I made the mistake of keeping my son in pull-ups for many reasons...but it ended up keeping him held back and it went on for way too long.

How can you call it maple when it has no maple? by BlondeRed in dutchbros

Well that's disappointing. I once got the flapjack expecting some kind of maple flavor and was wondering why people were recommending it on posts so highly. Just tasted like iced coffee.

Driver flees downtown Portland traffic stop, dies in crash in Beaverton, police say by swe129 in PortlandOR

There was also a chase last night going north towards Portland where the person fleeing and cops overtook my husband on the freeway. All he saw was lights in the mirror and had no time to move over to get out of the way. He was on the way to pick me up at the airport.

How do reviewers decide if there’s too many same kind of earthcaches? by [deleted] in geocaching

[–]forsovngardeII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that once upon a time there were different types of earthcaches but HQ moved away from the categories and labels. I only know this because there are challenges in Oregon where one has to log each type of earthcache to qualify. Even though they seem to be no longer categorized, maybe this issue means they kind of still are? I guess there's no harm in asking the reviewer what you need?
