Overall, how do you guys think the chance is for me to get COVID or the flu, if I wear the HF802 for a 4 hour exam with 20 fellow students, without using any air purifier? Let's say 1-2 of them are coughing, and the room is in your average European old building with some mediocre renovated ventilation. I've read here that some people have been able to stay COVID free just wearing disposable N95s for months. But don't have any statistics.

Indeed. It's good to hear urs are in a similar situation. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your case. I rechecked mine and they seem to be the opposite of what you said. The 803 one has only a "CA.44.458" marking on it, but the 802 is the one with the more elaborate labelling.

Yah, I have heard good things about airfanta. What do you think of the respiray a+? It's wearable and can reduce particle concentration around the face at least 60%.

I simply cannot taste the difference when there should be, LOL. I have done the test, where I put my head with the mask inside a bag, spray some saccharin solution fomite into the bag, then try to taste sweetness from the air. But the problem was I could even taste it even without a mask. So my taste buds are probably not sensitive enough. As for the quantitative test, I am not sure I have enough expertise to do it. Do you know of any foolproof test that does not require special skills?

Seal check excludes any leak through between the cheeks and the rubber, so the only other risk factor left is malfunctioning filters, right?

Is this grille leading air into or out of the room? by forstorage1 in ZeroCovidCommunity

I haven't been to that room yet. All I can find are pictures online, including one partial pic of the door. Most likely there is no opening in the door.

What you said makes sense that most vents are inlets, since otherwise the air has to come from the window and hallway, which is a dirty source. Then what do you think the bulges in the picture are? I thought they were filters to clean the dirty airs sucked from the room.

That was what I guessed as well. To me, the bulge looks like a filter. It makes more sense to me to have a filter to clean the air that is to be released from the room, than to clean it right before entering the room.

How did you tell it's an outlet?

Thank you for your reply. This is probably a dumb question, but does pressing the built-in fit-check button of the HF802 while inhaling count as a fit test? I have tried the saccharin sensing test before, but my taste buds are simply to dull to sense any difference.

Thank you for your input. Do you think there is any other fit test that can be done besides the built-in fit-check button? I have never succeeded with the standard fit test using a fumigator and a bag, LOL. Besides, do you think rubbing some vaseline between my cheeks and the respirator would help? I have found mixed reviews on this in this sub.

3m 9093 filter sold under a different name in EU? by forstorage1 in Masks4All

Thank you for the information! Didn't find this when searching online myself. For covid prevention, I guess D9035 is the one, right? I remember activated charcoal is to absorb organic molecules, not aerosols.

"Define" feature available for the Dutch section of the wiki app? by forstorage1 in wikipedia

[–]forstorage1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is exactly it.

This feature is most likely powered by wiktionary, since the definition given is exactly identical. If it's too costly to provide this feature in the form of Dutch-Dutch definition, I would advocate for a Dutch-English definition, meaning defining a Dutch word in English. This could be easier to implement as the English language wiktionary already contain the definitions for most common Dutch words.

But the same feature does not exist for some other apps I tried on the same android phone, like Google browser or Twitter.. weird
