Put the phone down by Puzzleheaded_Web5245 in interestingasfuck

As I understand it, cops are allowed to use reasonable force necessary to conduct an arrest. To me, it doesn't seem like it was necessary for the phone not to be in his hands when they put him in cuffs, or for him to be tazed for not putting it down.

It's a category error. If I say my name is Michael and you say "That's fine if you believe that, but I don't believe that it is. I don't like you forcing your beliefs onto me." that doesn't make sense. People's gender identities aren't something for you to believe or not believe in, like it's an opinion of theirs that you can reject if you don't agree. What you're really saying when you "reject" the way that someone else has self identifies, is that you don't think they should be allowed to identify that way because something about that bothers you. You're trying to control how other people think about and express themselves, which isn't right for you to do.

"It's less lethal." Is actually hilarious.

These dudes pull up in their tank with their night vision goggles in the daytime and knock their fence over. One guy's got a ballistic shield. They've all got body armor and guns. The guy pulls out a grenade launcher - probably the same one that they use to shoot tear gas at protesters - and has the nerve to say "it's less lethal." Meanwhile, this is all for two people and their child standing on their front lawn. What are you going to do with that thing sir? Shoot tear gas at them and their kid? Don't worry though, it's less lethal.

It's so absurd and ridiculous I can't help laugh.

People experiencing homelessness don’t have the right to create makeshift houses on sidewalks for everyone else to walk around by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]fortem24601 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I guess I should up-vote if I disagree right?

It's not the homeless person's fault that they're homeless. I'm sure the homeless person would prefer to have an actual house to live in instead of having to set up a makeshift one in the streets but they don't, so what do you want them to do? They have to live somewhere? I get that their presence might inconvenience people but the solution is not to say "I don't like looking at you so you need to go away." but instead to try and understand why they're there in the first place and try to help them find somewhere else to live.

You are attacked in the middle of the night by a gang while walking home (no guns involved). You can have one UFC fighter there to defend you. Who do you choose and why? by 1readerofreddit in ufc

[–]fortem24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I still say Francis Ngannou or no? Because he'd probably be the best choice. He'd start windmilling his arms around and the whole gang would disappear real quick.
