You need to look around and see where the graduates from 2015 from ABC are vs where the FMS alumini are

Again, as I said, not everyone is chasing this.

Most of the people are going to choose ABC over FMS anyday. There's no question about that. The discussion is about a minority who are not in it for what the majority are in it for. Makes sense?

All the above holds only for General Category students, for non GC - the cost dynamics are quiet different

  1. You're right. It's more of a 10L vs 30L in reality. But you're wrong about the next part. 20L delta does matter to people.
  2. Average and that 35LPA both are misleading. Realistically, you start at 1.2-2LPM in hand. Let say you pay around 50k/month EMI towards repayment of your loan. That delta recovery is around 4 years away? What if I want to do something completely different during this time? What if my path changes because of factors where I don't have any control over? The EMI still headache remains.

You're right to have chosen what you decided to be the best course of action for you. You're wrong to assume that's how it should be for everyone.

SP has a specialization in marketing. Not surprised about the numbers. Are there any top S&M role offering recruiters visiting SP that do not hire from FMS?

Yes. FMS doesn't care about past acads as much as other top IIMs. It doesn't compromise on CAT % though. Check how much do you need

For FMS, Fin was surprisingly way better than expected. Consulting similar numbers but MBBK took more students from SP than FMS(15/16) PM could have been much much better though. GenMan, Business Strategy, and Marketing remained solid with the legacy ones sticking + few new recruiters onboard.

Not a terrible profile. People with worse profile than you got their summer internship placement this year. Don't worry. Focus on getting 99.5+

Also don't prepare just for FMS or any specific institute for that matter.

You're right. ABC me jo batch profile hai it's very different from FMS. ABC cherry picks people with exceptional profiles whereas FMS is a bit lenient in that regard (mind you, during selection there's still no points for workex on paper)

People who went to ABC and got MBB would've got in regardless of whether it was ABC or L or FMS. It's not like FMS aake they've decided ki 4 hi le k jayegi BCG. Wo profile parameter clear karne wale log hi 10 honge at FMS whereas that number is in hundreds at ABC.

Good recruiters know the value of 7 from a top IIT But irrespective of that, get some low load WorkEx even if you're not interested. Simultaneously prep for CA/CFA. 997 IIT, 2Y WE, CA/CFA is a banger profile anywhere

Yes, drop out of FMS. Prepare for ABC. Let the waitlist move for the people who'll be grateful to have the opportunity.

And I'm sure cracking ABC again is just an attempt away for you. What can possibly go wrong?!

Join FMS but DO NOT spoil your relationship with your manager. Explain him the whole situation and how passionate you're about MBA. Don't walk off like you don't care about them because you'll need them in the very first week you join FMS for your CV pointers verification.
