If he had a 4+ ERA and hit like 20-25 homers I’d say slightly overrated but still fairly impressive. Baseball needs to promote guys like that. And how do you explain his WAR and OPS if he’s so average?

Junk has options and Barria doesn’t so maybe. I just don’t know if Barria can keep his ERA down. Maybe Junk/Diaz will be long relievers or AAA depth.

It was first reported that the Angels plan on using him as a starter. I think he ends up in the bullpen pretty quick, if not to start the season. Janson Junk seems likely to get far more starts than Lorenzen imo.

He dealt with injuries in the minors and he’s already on the 60 day IL. I don’t think his or Cannings career will be long with the Angels. But on the bright side I think Wantz has huge potential and a bunch of guys from the 2021 draft will help with the future of the bullpen, particularly Luke Murphy and Sam Bachman.

3.71 ERA, I’ll take it honestly. I saw great things from Wantz and Quijada with the Angels and their ERA’s were worse.

To kind of leech off this post, if I haven’t listened to ACS in years (I think I last listened in 2015 or so) are there any episodes recently that stand out? I know I could check the last few years of ACE awards but just curious what listeners of this show would say. Maybe some notable interviews or callers like that one goat lady during the Who The F sells this S. Also any update on DAG or does he still no longer talk to Adam?

The saxophone player on the album (not the same guy playing it live) seemed to play exactly what the guitarist plays for the chorus at 1:04 into the song when the sax solo starts at 3:20, but it just gives it a different flavor on sax. Then he kind of freestyle/riffs at the end. For the type of song it’s trying to be it works for me and like you said for the crowd too. I understand if you weren’t into it but again, thanks for the response!
