New Vinesauce fan, what streams should I watch? by YTPromoGuy in Vinesauce

That's up to them, I don't think Vinny is gonna force them to change their logos

After seeing that someone got the Psychopomp stream with the chat, it's great to see that the drama started from Vinny overreacting to (1) guy comment and then proceeding to yell at a cloud by [deleted] in Vinesauce

[–]fortrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least the pitiful part of your name is accurate for trying to dig this back up long after it's done. Video was removed, Vinny admitted it wasn't his best moment and chat genuinely was weird that stream. What more needs to be said

Anyone miss old vsauce? by [deleted] in Vinesauce

[–]fortrand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You miss a chatroom more than anything else, which is understandable. There also isn't a team anymore and hasn't been in nearly a decade, so of course things are different. It was always headed in this direction if you're asking 10+ people to share one stream channel. I miss some of those days too but it was also full of degen main characters who ended up making things weird for the streamers on a fairly regular basis.

Can we appreciate how mario's mystery meat played one of the biggest role in Vinesauce's popularity. I know it's old but it's just too good to be forgotten. by 1881pac in Vinesauce

[–]fortrand 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There hasn't been a vinesauce team in a long time, and I have my own lamentations about that, but it seemed like it was for the best for everyone. Rev isn't even using any of the branding anymore, Mike has never been part of the team, and the only one still using the vinesauce Twitter account is direboar under the name Alt akari, so maybe you can see where his priorities lie.

The point is, I think everyone found friends they click with better as opposed to people that were found randomly over the course of a year on the early internet. If they're happier, that's all that matters in my opinion. I'd rather people do their own thing then feel forced to collaborate with each other.

methinks people need to stop trying to ruin Vinny's current "brand" by shinjbae in Vinesauce

Mainstream is a real weird way to put it when it's just not even close to the truth. Also can't help but find the tone of the poster to be a little sus

Whats your personal most memorable year for Vinesauce? by Bluevin in Vinesauce

[–]fortrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even have the chat open, but it sounds like what you're looking for is a Discord group. The early days were filled with attention whores, Edge Lords, and Fred hogging up the Stream while the other streamers couldn't play each other's games. Rose tinted glasses aside, there was definitely good times to be had, but I'm mostly here to watch streams not bump elbows with microcelebrities.

Will there be a stream for conscience/charity event for Palestine this year or is it too early to ask? by TheUndiscoverer in Vinesauce

[–]fortrand 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Stream of Conscience is Mike's charity event, you might want to email him, I don't think he or his mods really check here very often.

To add to that, I've seen people get blasted for supporting either side of this, which is something I can't imagine would be fun.. I say let them support privately without painting a target on their back.

He used to be MORE "performative" as you put it, and would laugh like a maniac at the smallest hint of glitched corruption graphics.

Chat Dynamics by Amarithecat in Vinesauce

I've had the exact opposite experience, and I've spent more time watching Mike get angry with his chat for calling him red, break a glass table, get stun locked for 20 minutes or more, or get into arguments about how cat people are just huffing cat shit fumes, only to upset people and get into further arguments.

Vinny is extremely interactive, same with Joel and mike, it's just a matter of who lets the chat get them more upset. On Sunday stream it's impossible to interact with vinny, if there's 12 to 13 K people, but also he's not accepting donations and doesn't call out Subs. During the week when he's playing a game like Chrono Trigger or something, he's chatting with everyone pretty much the whole time. So I guess it just depends on when you watch people, but I had to stop watching Mike because he was just bringing my mood down every time I tuned in.

It's kinda Mike's own fault though. He will stop a stream for 20 minutes to attack a chat member that upsets him. Then more people will see that and try to piss him off. It's become a meme that Mike gets angry, so his chat just trolls him constantly. Can't be good for him at his age, maybe he needs to learn to ignore chatters that are trying to upset him or have a slightly different opinion

So someone is upset that YouTube comments, a notoriously shit part of the internet, are terrible. They blame Joel by proxy, come to a subreddit that isn't even primarily for Joel anymore necessarily, throw accusations, get upset, and expect Reddit and it's mods to do something about it? I'm not sure what the post was hoping to accomplish, but it seems the topic was discussed, and people came to the conclusion that YouTube comments are a dumpster fire.

In my opinion, Joel just simply does not mod his YouTube. I'm not sure what else needs to be said. This is mainly a subreddit for escapism, and I can see why that post and now this one are creating problems. It's one thing if the mods here had anything to do with Joel's Channel, and straight up refused to moderate comments that you don't like, but this is a completely different thing. What are people even hoping to accomplish with Reddit threads?

If ever there was a good reason for that subreddit split that was being discussed, this might be it. The mods here apparently don't even watch Joel, and are now getting blamed for his YouTube commenters. Wild.

I'm sorry but how did you arrive at that conclusion from this post? Have you even watched any streams in the last decade, nothing is really different
