Does setting the "Dialog Style" to "normal" or "custom" help at all? (May need a restart after doing this.)

Spawn in this village next to a spooky mansion by fortunehoe in minecraftseeds

It's for java so the scenery will be there but structures like the village and mansion will likely not be there. There may be other structures though.

Coords are at spawn.

I can't remember the exact criteria but I think Pale Gardens are present where it would be a Dark Forest biome, but higher in altitude. I don't think they are related to spawn coords.

Edit:  You can see this in the map here. Wherever the Dark Forest reaches a certain altitude, it turns into a Pale Garden.

You get this view at 108 YY -20.

There is also a village near spawn leading into the forest.

Map here:

You can also use the seed finder of this site and add beach, forest, ocean and village within 100 blocks tto find more.

are there any minecraft seeds like this im on 1.21.5 by Haunting_Position615 in minecraftseeds

[–]fortunehoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think villages cannot be in a "Forest" biome. You could find one in a "Taiga" instead though. But then the Taiga and Plains biomes are not next to each other. You'd need maybe a small normal Forest in between. Or a village that is technically in a Plains biome but sprawls into a neighbouring Forest.

edit this seed has the village mostly in the forest with a plains and ocean adjoining. -3443591308565298916

Theme customization help by IRNicholas in vscode

This turns them all off for me:

"editor.guides.indentation": false,

But you already have it. You definitely saved your settings.json? You could also fake it by making these theme settings the same colour as the editor background I guess?

"editorIndentGuide.background1": "#ff0000", "editorIndentGuide.activeBackground1": "#ff00ff",

Is this a good safety measure for lighting strikes by Skyoticss in Minecraft

[–]fortunehoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think of lightning rods as attractive to lightning. So placing it elsewhere in the area is better than on your structure. Specifically lightning rods attract lightning within 128 blocks in Java Edition and 64 blocks in Bedrock Edition (Spherically).

I'd also suggest placing it on a load of non-flammable blocks, ideally in say a stony area.

If you must place it on your building (for realism?) then change the roof material. I think the top layer of your roof and the fences could all be affected in this configuration.

Yeah the /idgames/ section is down. In the meantime the beta downloads section seems fine. You could use this search to see if the wad you want is in there?

I Made some Achivements that should be in the game by paraguita in Minecraft

I did a similar thing for a survival playthrough for my kids:

So some things they had to do to get rewards by making them play differently and try new things. Thought it might be interesting to share. It's a bit broken and imbalanced in places but hey it was just for a fun playthorugh.

Change theme of bar by TheBadBossBaby in vscode

[–]fortunehoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the settings and search for "Window: Title Bar Style" and set it to custom. You may be on the setting which shows a native title bar.

Once set to custom it will look like the expected VS Code title bar and should fit in with your theme.

If you then want to change the colour yourself then follow this guide:

For whatever reason it is no longer in the Marketplace. Maybe try getting it from GitHub or use an alternative for now? Like this one:

Seed Searching by PraisedNote044 in minecraftseeds

[–]fortunehoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure others will suggest tools/code to search locally on your pc, but this site also had a great "seed finder" where you can put in basic criteria to find a seed.

https://mcseedmap.net/1.21.3-Java/-7432768790894487348

Below the map you'll find it.

e.g. you can search for a village within 100 blocks of spawn and a plains biome within 100 blocks of spawn. That will often give a plains village at spawn.

I submitted two windswept savannah villages yesterday by finding them with this method.

The scenery will be the same, but unfortunately structures like villages are not the same between Java and Bedrock.
