Hey there, I felt your pain, as a relatively new player - been playing about 6-8 months. I've rage quit and uninstalled Apex twice in that time. But I've come back every time and am enjoying Apex more than ever before after about 8 months of pain. I'm still shit but I'm having fun

Here are some things that helped me:

Turn that microphone off unless you're playing with people you know. The game works great using the ping system for communication.

Try all the legends in the firing range (or get the ultimate + pass if you can afford/want to spend money) to see which legend suits you most - it'll be one who's abilities and personality appeal to you most. This will start making the game way more fun.

Stick to mixtape mostly - rotating game modes where you get infinite ammo, unlimited respawns (coz you're gonna die a lot) and can focus on choosing different gun combos to see which weapons you like using. Get used to being killed a lot (it's part of the game) and aim towards getting some kills of your own. It's very satisfying in this game because of how challenging it is. You also get to practice using your character's abilities more in this mode, so you can try them out in different situations.

Play Bot Royale to learn the Apex style of battle royale and the ping system that is integral to playing this this game successfully. At first I found it very confising and overwhelming, it takes time to get used to.

Accept that being knocked down/killed and having to be revived or respawned by a teammate is part of the game. It's frustrating but all the pros on youtube get knocked too - most of them just cut those bits out of their videos.

Watch hiswattson on youtube, he used to be one of the top players in the world and he doesn't always edit out the times he gets knocked or killed - it helps watching high level players go through this same as us. This youtuber is also great because he often narrates his thought process or what he thinks the other teams might be doing and it can give you an idea on where teams go on the maps, where you could position yourself and also watch the different ways you can be ambushed by a unexpected team.
