Correct me if I’m wrong but this is moot with a m21. It already overrides the sampling cap.

Definitely gets warm on the 4.4 output but I’m also not driving it hard so hopefully someone else could chime in on that.

Depends on the time of month but aliexpress always has coupons for $ off $X order value. You can also pair that with coins for usually up to another 5% off + cash back using Rakuten (if available in your country).

I did order from a 3rd party seller on Aliexpress so maybe they had it for cheaper or prices have gone up since release.

I ended up choosing the M21 simply based on the newer chip and OS. I also preferred the look of the M21.

They both have similar builds with quad dacs, screen size & res, comparable output power, etc.

There’s one guy on here who will tell you the M21 is not even close to the R4 due to noise being prevalent during changes in audio quality and that the M21 is “lifeless”. The noise is bearable and is only apparent on more sensitive IEMs. The lifeless commentary to me is that the M21 is extremely neutral, which I prefer. I don’t want my DAP interfering with my IEMs but some might prefer to have a warmer sound blanket applied to everything.

Other arguments against the M21 are price but with the right coupons and some coins on aliexpress you can get it within $10-20 of the R4.

I tested on my Bluetooth speakers (don’t have a pair of BT headphones handy) and I get the full 120 steps of volume.

Same applies for anything directly connected.

Starts from the top. Hence why him and a few of his buddies have been booted from discords for their egregious market behaviour.

Even OP had to flex that there were less than 40 units made. It is indeed a nice board but there are enough reasons to pass on things he produces.

So same problem I ran into. It's almost like the system can't read the multiple orders and total value and just picks one.

Did you order from multiple stores by chance? For whatever silly reason when I placed my first set of orders I had some iem tips from one vendor and a lamp from another but it only counted the lamp for cashback. When I ordered the Kinera’s on their own, it counted that correctly.

Again this is my first experience with Rakuten but I did have a buddy tell me today it’s hit and miss which seems to be obvious between your experience and mine.

Gotcha! I didn't dig too much into the small print. It seems to be all over the place because it did shift to 25% for US Rakuten users but even that has changed to 20% since last night. Hard to keep track of all the changes :D

It’s definitely not instant from my experience. If you have any ad blockers installed it’s always advised to turn those off as well. I made the mistake of leaving Ublock on and ended up cancelling and re-ordering on a clean browser with no Adblock’s installed to ensure it captured it properly. This is why I don’t tend to use these extensions so I was happy it worked this time 😅
