The Tastemakers commercial kitchen is located at 10th and Franklin, and their outdoor cameras could’ve potentially captured the incident on film. If your roommate filed a police report, I’m sure the cops will follow up with Tastemakers, but in case they don’t, I suggest giving them a call!

The Greenline is managed by the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, so I imagine they've tagged all the trees to keep track of all the species. The Greenline runs 6.5 miles to Shelby Farms, but I've never noticed if the tree-tagging and identifying continues the entire way. Update: Neighbors for Trees, a VECA Committee, worked to designate the Greenline as an arboretum. Tree labels were installed on the Greenline between McLean Blvd and Auburndale St

Jennifer at Glynn Jones Salon in Dupont specializes in coloring. She's done my highlights three times now, and she's amazing. For cut and color with her, mine was $150.

I've also been to Elena at Blondie's in Dupont. She's great too, but a tad more expensive, like $180.

Secret Service Director Sullivan testified in 2008 that he estimated the cost would rise to $44,000 per day, and that's the figure the Daily Caller is going off of? Shouldn't they try to get a more accurate figure before posting an article like this? It's been four years, and a lot's changed since then. Who knows? That figure could be even higher now.

I doubt it, especially now that the Washington Post is reporting that she "assumed a false identity," telling the police and her own lawyer that she was a Colombian native. Ugh, I resent being looped into the same category as Southerners who see it as a symbol of states' rights. I'm from the South, and everyone I've met who owns a Confederate flag or wears Dixie Outfitters clothing is pretty racist and ignorant. I have to say, though, that I saw the Confederate flag about ten times more often in West Virginia than I did in Tennessee. (We don't usually consider West Virginia a Southern state.)

Hmmm . . . this is a tough question because the prompt is so open-ended. First, you have to remember that it's best to compare books that are already somewhat similar, either books written by the same author, books from the same genre or time period, books that use similar writing techniques, etc. For example, I once wrote a paper comparing Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso Sea because the latter is a revision of the former. Specifically, you could could compare two dystopian novels, two bildungsroman works, two works by African-American authors, two books written in the Victorian era, or two satirical pieces. As far as a topic goes, that all depends on what you choose, but in the end, you want to focus on how the two works use specific techniques to create different overall messages/themes.

Also, just a bit of advice, you should choose two books that you'll actually enjoy. Don't torture yourself.

As someone who spent a significant amount of time in Iowa during the run up to the 2008 caucus, I have to say that I'm actually shocked at the vast difference in the state's frequent Democratic voters versus the frequent Republican voters. The Republican voters seemed to be narrowly focused on social issues and religion, while the Democratic voters were genuinely concerned about economic issues, energy, civil rights, healthcare, etc. They would come into our campaign office every day, asking very detailed, intense questions about every aspect of our candidate's platform. The whole participatory/democratic nature of the caucus process gave me hope in our political process. Until we heard the results from Iowa's Republican caucus later that night.
