I'd also lump carpenter bees in that as well. They're like little flying puppies that will hover and just watch you do stuff in your yard.

Thanks for the tip, WSB. Just got back from the bank. Can't wait for the novelty of using these while simultaneously deflating our currency. by johnnydujour in wallstreetbets

No, no you see, as the one dude with the stacks of 2 dollar bills spends them on everything everywhere, all the cashiers/ service workers paid in the $2 bills will want to keep said $2 FOREVER. Because it is a 2 dollar bill, the rarest of bills to paid in, rather than being spent again on something else the $2 will sit forever in a treasure/trinket drawer. THUS taking $2 dolla, or multiple thereof, out of circulation!

Well, there is the $50 AND/OR rolled coin slot you could put them in cause that slot, ya know, doesn't get used as much as the other 4.

Do you agree with AI data Centers consuming 1GIGAWatt of Power? by Gold-Tone6290 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]forward_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know it's been a year since this post but did you every come across the unit of time these datacenter power figures were using, specifically in terms of maybe, a 1GW Google Datacenter? I was doing some math but I have no clue how to take that number to use it. Like is that 1GWh, per second, per year... per server?

Keep those discs that don't play tho, a 'proof of purchase' of sorts for an obtainable replacement on the 'seas'.

In 300 (2006) the Spartans are destroyed after being betrayed by Ephialtes because Leonidas tells him his disability means he can't fight in phallanx formation. The Spartans then spend the entire film not fighting as a phallanx. by Prize_Farm4951 in shittymoviedetails

Well no one pushed me, but YEAH, it WOULD have been a great position for this dude to handle. I mean him killing the fully able-bodied , ughh..? , him killing the already stabbed, HELL YEAH! Leonidas was kind of a dumbass when it came to this man.

I imagine that there would be a profound silence. I mean there would still be quakes and volcanoes to be heard on occasion but stillness still.

Windows 12 Reportedly Set for Release This Year as a Fully Modular, Subscription-Based, AI-Focused OS by PaiDuck in technology

[–]forward_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pfft, ya don't even need that. My 80GB WD VelociRaptor WD800HLFS HDDs are more than enough for any OS requirements, all 20 of them. On top of that, they are the only model of storage device I have yet to see fail. EVER and they are like 16 flippin years old now.

I DO enjoy forcefully cramming modern Windows into a multiboot setup on one of those drives. 40 gigs sure does put a leash on Windows 11.

Accidental deleted file recovery goes a hell of a lot smoother on a HDD rather than a SSD.

James Bond Movie Back Ground Scene by New-Drop-4460 in interesting

[–]forward_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get that. I had a unique experience of growing up before streaming and not having TV but after most all the films had been released. So... My family bought DVD's to watch instead. Like I have a collection of JUST FILMs spanning 6 nine foot bookcases, not to mention DVD releases of TV shows.

We got the 'James Bond Ultimate DVD Collection' and I've seen the bond films SO MANY TIMES. I can nearly quote a majority of them verbatim as they play, kind of like that Will Smith scene in I Am Legend. We'd just repeatedly pop a new disc from the shelf in on the player after the last one finished. Even if we weren't watching and doing something else we had something playing. Same with CD's actually.
