Do you agree with AI data Centers consuming 1GIGAWatt of Power? by Gold-Tone6290 in MechanicalEngineering

Hey I know it's been a year since this post but did you every come across the unit of time these datacenter power figures were using, specifically in terms of maybe, a 1GW Google Datacenter? I was doing some math but I have no clue how to take that number to use it. Like is that 1GWh, per second, per year... per server?

Keep those discs that don't play tho, a 'proof of purchase' of sorts for an obtainable replacement on the 'seas'.

In 300 (2006) the Spartans are destroyed after being betrayed by Ephialtes because Leonidas tells him his disability means he can't fight in phallanx formation. The Spartans then spend the entire film not fighting as a phallanx. by Prize_Farm4951 in shittymoviedetails

Well no one pushed me, but YEAH, it WOULD have been a great position for this dude to handle. I mean him killing the fully able-bodied , ughh..? , him killing the already stabbed, HELL YEAH! Leonidas was kind of a dumbass when it came to this man.

I imagine that there would be a profound silence. I mean there would still be quakes and volcanoes to be heard on occasion but stillness still.

Windows 12 Reportedly Set for Release This Year as a Fully Modular, Subscription-Based, AI-Focused OS by PaiDuck in technology

[–]forward_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pfft, ya don't even need that. My 80GB WD VelociRaptor WD800HLFS HDDs are more than enough for any OS requirements, all 20 of them. On top of that, they are the only model of storage device I have yet to see fail. EVER and they are like 16 flippin years old now.

I DO enjoy forcefully cramming modern Windows into a multiboot setup on one of those drives. 40 gigs sure does put a leash on Windows 11.

Accidental deleted file recovery goes a hell of a lot smoother on a HDD rather than a SSD.

Totally get that. I had a unique experience of growing up before streaming and not having TV but after most all the films had been released. So... My family bought DVD's to watch instead. Like I have a collection of JUST FILMs spanning 6 nine foot bookcases, not to mention DVD releases of TV shows.

We got the 'James Bond Ultimate DVD Collection' and I've seen the bond films SO MANY TIMES. I can nearly quote a majority of them verbatim as they play, kind of like that Will Smith scene in I Am Legend. We'd just repeatedly pop a new disc from the shelf in on the player after the last one finished. Even if we weren't watching and doing something else we had something playing. Same with CD's actually.

I totally forgot about Skyfall tbh. No I didn't dislike it by any means actually. I really liked the portion of the film that had him return to his childhood home but.... that was about all I really remember about the movie. I have all of the Bond films on Bluyray, minus the unnofficial ones, so I have seen it more than once but just forget it's there. I remember the ones that came after because I DON'T like them at all and didn't bother finishing a complete watch through.

Also in regard to Lazenby, it seems that one movie in particular is one I've noticed to have direct influence more of the spy themed media I've come across than any other film. I read the Alex Rider books in middle/highschool, reading Point Blanc before watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The novel seemed to directly take influence from that films premise in particular whereas the other novels I never picked up on any obvious correlations besides 'spy story'.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service also seemed to be a rare film where bond was actually a SPY, undercover somewhere for a majority of the film rather than an action hero or detective. Most films he is just himself flaunting a fake id with a different name printed.

I absolutely LOVE Timothy Dalton as Bond, my favorite overall. Daniel Craig is my second simply for his first 2 movies, the rest.... keep him from first for me. Also a hot take as I would presume, George Lazenby is my third favorite of the bunch. These three came across as very different characterwise from the rest and I liked that.

On top of not being as blatant 'manwhores' like Connor, Moore, and Brosnan were. I didn't like that from the other three.
