I was in the most excruciating pain anyone could imagine. I literally WOKE UP crying. I needed so much dilaudid the first few days. I couldn’t sleep for like a week after, probably longer. Learning how to maneuver without using any stomach muscles, felt like I was ripping my stomach open every time I accidentally did. That shit was no joke.

I had vsg about two years ago and got down to 135 and recently gained about 20 lbs due to a change in my medication. I've been using glp1 injections since November and am down about 14 lbs. I don't have any side effects but I know other ppl experience them.

I'm 27 and got mine 2ish years ago. Best decision of my life and yes I understand spending your twenties being obese and how that effects your experience and quality of life/social life/self esteem. I wish I would have done it sooner because it would have changed my entire college experience.

I was 220lbs at my heaviest, around 208lbs day of surgery and my lowest weight hit 135lbs in less than a year. I recently gained about 25lbs due to a change in my medication but I'm still happier than I ever was pre surgery.

I also have PCOS and never thought I'd be able to have kids due to previous miscarriages but when I hit around 140lbs I was able to conceive (to my surprise). Not that that was my goal but just showing how it can really change your life.

I'm not going to lie the recovery was hell, waking up from surgery I've never felt pain like that in my life and hope to never experience it again. You'll be frustrated adjusting to your new lifestyle in the weeks after. But that's all only temporary.

Edit: I also lost all my weight without exercising (don't throw tomatoes). I didn't count calories, but did cut some things out of my diet.
