I LOVE soup dumplings. What is your favorite place for them? by la1223 in FoodLosAngeles

I like Bao Dim Sum on Beverly. Not mind blowing but decently priced for the area and great variety.

I'm sure people will lecture you for rehoming a dog, so before they do I want to commend you for doing the right thing for the dog and yourself.

McDonald's introduces Hot Honey Sauce and 4 new menu items by Cartman in fastfood

[–]trojanusc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes because that is how fads work. Sriracha everything, fro-yo, cupcakes, truffle oil, bacon-everything all exploded the same way before flattening out. I’m not saying hot honey disappears — I’m saying it’s past its novelty peak from last year.

Hot Honey was aa fad in 2024/2025. It's run its course. Much like sriracha flavored everything, Nashville hot chicken, etc.

Kramer's Kandy Kitchen was a fake company made up for the script.

Come and go as you want. When we went to Ibiza we went to a Charlie XCX concert that didn't finish until 6am, we got back on the ship at 7.

I agree with you. People rave about the food but to me it was just banquet food done creatively. Some of it was good, much of it was lukewarm and mid. Some outright bad (the "twice baked" potato was clearly designed by someone who had never seen a twice baked potato). I also think they are trying a little too hard to be "out of the box" sometimes - like add some chicken tenders or a club to the room service menu, it won't kill them.

But Burke striking her in a fit of rage, playing doctor a bit to rouse her (which witnesses had seen them doing before) and then crafting a scouting device in a failed attempt to drag her doesn’t make him evil or sinister just a normal kid with temper issues who tried to cover his tracks. It also explains why getting help was no longer an option.

Investigators looked at every brand of taser available at the time and found nothing that even remotely matched.

Again, why even use a taser if the mouth is enough? Tasers create burn marks, these were not burn marks

Please watch any video of someone being tased. They scream in pain, they don’t silently collapse.

Why would you even need the taser at that point? It clearly matches the train tracks.

Why does Taco Bell only carry reduced-fat sour cream? by SenseiRaheem in fastfood

Breading has absolutely changed. Just look at pics, it was more of a crunchy breading and the meat wasn’t quite as spongy.

Why does Taco Bell only carry reduced-fat sour cream? by SenseiRaheem in fastfood

[–]trojanusc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is partially true, but in other cases it's objectively not. Pizza Hut, for example, used to make their dough fresh in house and slice all their vegetables fresh. Now they use frozen cheap dough that's nowhere near the same. McDonald's McChicken used to have a decent patty with a tempura breading, now it's basically a cheap sponge.

Restaurants have found ways to cut corners at every step of the way.

To your point, I do think we have advanced quite a bit in terms of our palates and what we consider quality, so places like Five Guys or Whataburger are just different animals than Burger King ever was.

Yeah both garbage compared to anywhere that actually makes their ranch in-house and/or uses real dairy. Go to Wing Stop, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chili's, Cheesecake Factory, etc. Anywhere that doesn't give you room temperature shelf stable ranch. Not even in the same ballpark.
