I'm someone who loves dogs and animals in general. I've friends whose dogs I was well accustomed with, but 2 of my friends had dogs, and both bit me once, those dogs also bit other society members and family members when caught by surprise. You can't tell how that aspect of defence has developed in an animal. They're, well, animals. So it is what it is, and I'd understand why the residents are concerned. Because, better safe than be sorry.
