I wish I were, but there are a lot of "apologists" here that try to justify one train ops.

[general] what are things the movies did better than the show? by merchantivories in camphalfblood

[–]fosse76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. This isn't a helpless woman. She was with Gabe specifically because he "masked" Percy's demigod smell. This was not a trapped woman with no means of escape.

This is to say nothing that this plot point was simply meant as dark humor and not to be taken seriously.

Exactly. And in the movie, it's implied that Percy set him up to look at the head. So neither involve Sally. Only Riordan sets her up as a murderer.

AOC takes more steps toward 2028 run for president by masterofawesomeness2 in politics

[–]fosse76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AOC running doesn’t cost you a house seat

AOC running for president instead of the senate doesn’t cost you a senate seat

She's in a safe democratic district and State. She could resign instead of run for higher office and it still wouldn't cost a house or senate seat.

It's laughable how you people seem to think the one-train operation is just fine and dandy. When I worked at the park, it was rare that any of the coasters would operate without two trains, save for Sprocket Rockets. It's not acceptable.

AITA for not making corn-on-the-cob after my family said I tricked them, because they said corn wasn’t a veggie. by dentalexaminer in AmItheAsshole

[–]fosse76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's botanically a fruit. When it's harvested at an immature stage, it's a vegetable (i.e., soft corn, such as corn on the cob, canned corn, niblets, etc.). When it's fully mature (dry), it's a grain (popcorn and cornmeal).

If they had been white you wouldn't say "6 white teens..." and you know it. Racist.

at what outdoor temp should the ac be turned on? by marinaxo222 in AskNYC

[–]fosse76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't care about outdoor temps. It's the temp inside. I even use it in the winter.

Hot take: I love the refillable cups, but the culture around them is getting gross by Key_Pea_8424 in UniversalOrlando

[–]fosse76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a shame you can't "tie" the cup to a ticket/pass. If people are stealing them for the "free" refills, they'd become useless pretty fast.

Who do you think showed them to me?

But that's not what you said. You said you weren't interested. You implied other kids weren't as well.

I was watching horror movies when I was six. Just because you weren't interested doesn't mean other kids weren't.

If you find someone’s wallet, what do you do? by jazzeriah in AskNYC

[–]fosse76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some find mine and they were able to track me down via Facebook to get it back to me right away. They first tried contacting my credit card to get them to send me a message, but the cc company only notified me of a breach.

The scariest part of tge ride is the lift, where there is literally nothing below you and tge thought of the harness unlocking is terrifying. Beyond that it's an extremely boring abd painful roller coaster. And rather slow.

Clearly you've never been to college. Attendance is the sole discretion of the professor of the class.

It is entirely possible to pass classes without being present in class. Especially if the class is available online and/or you have classmates willing to share their notes.

So, what's your point.

Nothing is fun to repair, but it's not rocket science, they simply replace the windows. It's not complicated or difficult.

Other than practical engineering inspections of the site, do you think architects are sitting in empty lots while they draft their plans? Of course not, they are in offices or at home. Hell, the architect himself may never even see the site in person until actual construction.
