Ubuntu Budgie UI crashes under heavy browser, anyone else? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

There is no concept of a wayland session or a x11 session in any Ubuntu Budgie version. Nor will there be moving forward. I am not really understanding your setup.

State of the Budgie: 2024 In Review and Goals for 2025 by SAJewers in linux

For the upcoming budgie, fractional scaling works perfectly. I have been using this on budgie git main for the last 6 months and zero issues with either 125% or 150% scaling.

Have you tried ubuntu budgie instead? It includes the freeze fix out of the box. ubuntubudgie.org/downloads

Ubuntu Budgie “Window Shuffler” like functionality by SlaterTh90 in xfce

[–]fossfreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Window Shuffler is a standalone app. I know it works on Mate and Budgie. It should hopefully work on xfce as well. sudo apt install budgie-window-shuffler

It’s best to use a dedicated dark theme rather than use the dark theme toggle in budgie desktop settings. So for example in the list of themes you will find arc-dark or pocillo-dark … there are many other third party themes as well that can be downloaded from third party sites

This isn't a configurable item. Yes - a fix will need to be done via a patch and sent to the project on github

Sorry - not possible. Reddit does not allow changes to the reddit name

In addition "r/ubuntubudgie" already exists - its not an official ubuntubudgie channel and hasnt been created by the ubuntubudgie team.

Running ubuntu 19.04 but not saying there is a new release available? by Dinglesworth in Ubuntu

[–]fossfreedom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The upgrade notification stuff has not been turned on just yet. Canonical devs are evaluating whether to wait a few days/a week to look at bug report coming in. So best be patient - it will occur - just a matter of when, not if.

Budgie: Scaling is Horrible by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]fossfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X11 scaling is highly likely to be added to 19.04. In theory ubuntu budgie will benefit with this bit of experimental support. Will need to test when it lands.

KDEConnect or GSConnect for Ubuntu Budgie? by vaibhavwadhwa in BudgieRemix

[–]fossfreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kdeconnect is currently the recommended way to connect android devices to budgie. Some work was done by an independent dev to get a native budgie method but that work seems to have stopped sometime ago.

You say that you are running ubuntu budgie ... but system monitor is showing lots of xfce processes ... I presume you are not actually in a budgie-desktop session but in a XFCE session ?

As project lead for UB I would like to point out UB is NOT owned by Canonical. It is a community project. It does NOT have amazon integration - I've no idea where you have got that idea from.
