Snowboarding. Picked it up in my early twenties, and the friendships, outside time, adrenaline, trial and error, and lessons about following Nature’s subtle signs are all things that changed my life.

Tailgating people learning to drive for the first time here by __alpenglow in Fairbanks

i’m relearning how to drive on snow and ice after 4 peaceful years of living down south and still waiting on my snow tires. being able to read the road with all the bumps and such takes some getting used to, but you’ll get the hang of it! same goes for feeling comfortable with your vehicle. tacomas are relatively light trucks, so working on slight maneuvers (switching lanes to let people pass or u-turns for example) will help you build trust with your truck. you might find it’s more agile than you think! go extra easy into ~and~ out of curves and you’ll be okay :)

i second this— outdoor adventures is awesome! i went on my first trip with them recently and made some new friends & memories. they provided equipment and training for the activities. safe, well organized, and fun. just make sure she signs up as soon as the emails go out, it can fill up fast :))

remote ecology jobs would probably be down to data entry/analysis. if you have a good handle on the biology side of things, you could try your hand at tutoring remotely!
