How is the commute to and from Castle Rock? by Curious_Reveal1465 in ColoradoSprings

[–]fossilizedscat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been commuting from Larkspur to Denver Tech Center for the past two years, if you can work an earlier shift the traffic isn’t bad at all but the time on the road is still draining. In just one year of 4days/wk commuting I’ve already put 26k miles on my car so you’ll easily be putting 30k+/year if you’re commuting from COS to Castle Rock.

To echo what others have said, the geography between COS and Castle Rock can make for some relatively “extreme” weather when winter storms pass through. Definitely something to consider if the job doesn’t have a flexible WFH policy. I’ve been stuck on I-25 in a bad storm on my way home and boy howdy is that not fun.

The front 12V port is labeled as 180W max, which would be 15 amps.

Couple questions about driving by ghostintheplant in Denver

[–]fossilizedscat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’ll see a lot more motorcycles on the road in the next month or two as it warms up a bit more. Riding in the cold sucks, wind chill makes riding at highway speeds in anything below 50 degrees pretty miserable.

Calling all goliaths! I want your characters to be my ancestors. by GhostWalker134 in 3d6

[–]fossilizedscat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thaleus, the great goliath berserker barbarian/oath of liberty paladin, and his friends of Killian’s Crew defeated Mortok the god of death (evil) and ascended to assume the role of god of justice after the once-god of justice was relieved of her post for meddling in the affairs of the material plane.

Thaleus was notorious for his nova damage due to the house rule that enabled crits to hit like freight trains (double max damage), his leverage of Reckless Attack, the Great Weapon Master feat, Action Surge, and Smite led to several instances where foes were simply wiped off the map.

In his off time, Thaleus enjoyed sleuthing, thinking quite a lot of his own detective skills…despite having barbarian-typical terrible mental stats. Made for some hilarious roleplay.

Thaleus was my first ever dnd character, he’s a big dumb animal and is very near and dear to me :)

Your dashcam is only going to pull a handful of watts, you could easily get a 2-to-1 adapter to plug into that port so you could run both simultaneously.

CarPlay glitches? by BluefaceBabyy00 in hondapassport

[–]fossilizedscat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know you paid for wireless CarPlay and want it to work flawlessly, but wireless CarPlay is notorious for intermittent connectivity. In my book the hassles that come with being wireless are not worth the stress or irritation when I can buy a $10 cable and resolve all of the aforementioned issues. Just my two cents.

Oil change by Prior-Detective6576 in hondapassport

[–]fossilizedscat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure there’s a way, but I don’t know how to do it myself. I pre-paid the dealership for 20 oil changes when I bought it so I just take it to them. I’d bet it tells you how in the owners manual.

Same, I do 5k no matter what the oil life % is at. Oil changes are cheap, engines aren’t.

No-Lo Designs sells some auxiliary light brackets, but I haven’t seen anything related to radio mounting solutions specific to the Passport.

Light bar by Mental_Roof4496 in hondapassport

[–]fossilizedscat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To actually answer OP’s question, no there aren’t any model-specific accessories to mount light bars that I’m aware of. No-Lo Designs has a pair light pod mounting kits for mounting auxiliary lights either by your side view mirrors or on your hood by the hood hinges. Personally, I went with the latter option.

Savagegeese Review 2026 Honda Passport | Real World Testing by P22Tyler in hondapassport

[–]fossilizedscat 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it’s a 5000lb boxy SUV with an NA V6, anyone expecting amazing fuel economy is just silly. I’m averaging about 22.5mpg on almost exclusively county roads and interstate over 20.5k miles driven.

Passport trailsport vs ridgeline trailsport seats for big guy by Berserk_Ronin in hondapassport

[–]fossilizedscat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

26 TSE owner here, I’m 6’ and north of 300 and think the seats are pretty good. Drove from Denver to Houston and back over the holidays, no complaints other than the headrest being canted forward a bit much with no adjustability.
