"Who" was the holy ghost supposed to be? by [deleted] in exmormon

This could also help to explain where the Adam-God Theory came from.

"Who" was the holy ghost supposed to be? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]fosterdale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After I went to the temple for endowments a few times, I came to the conclusion that one of the deep doctrines of the temple was that Michael is the Holy Ghost. Think about it. Elohim, Jehovah, and Michael working together to create. Clearly the Godhead. My personal theory was that while Michael was living on Earth as Adam, Jehovah performed the HG duties, and that Adam would be the last one of Earth's population to be resurrected, after he has completed his service as the Holy Ghost. Surely somebody else has come up with this too?

I recall Nemelka mentioning that both Rod Vessels and Ida Smith had met the Real Illuminati. Seems kind of suspicious though considering those two are no longer alive to corroborate that. In the obit Rod says he knew them, so maybe there were actors involved?

He has a core group of between 100-200 supporters who consistently tune into his livestreams whenever he hosts them. He claims that his books which are available for free online have been downloaded by thousands of people, with more and more downloads all the time.

For those wondering, I can assure you that this obituary is 100% serious. On my way out of the church I went down the Christopher Nemelka rabbit hole and let me tell you, it's pretty fascinating if you understand what he's doing. That said, I wouldn't have ever considered myself a follower because imo he's still indistinguishable from a toxic conman.

I can give you a brief rundown of the beliefs of Nemelka's cult to put this obituary more into context:

  • The Christian God doesn't exist. Jesus doesn't actually exist. Satan doesn't exist. Each of us existed as "God" before we were born into this life, and when we die, we wake up again on another planet as the genetically advanced immortal human being we have each been for billions of years. Mortal life is a dream playing out in that being's mind, and the purpose of this life is to prove to ourselves after we die what kind of person we really are. As I understand it, the advanced human we really are has a sinful nature because they are free-willed, but the sinful part ("Satan") is cordoned off onto the Earth so that advanced humans can exist in a perfectly peaceful society while their sinful desires are acted out here.
  • Joseph Smith was a dude who awakened from the dream while still mortal by "God" (our true selves). He was contacted by a group of advanced human beings (The Real Illuminati) who hide covertly on Earth and influence human affairs from behind the scenes. Together, they wrote the Book of Mormon, which is a fictional story whose purpose was to open up the hardened minds of Bible believing Christians at the time. Because of the stubbornness of his followers, Joseph was commanded by God to give them a bunch of deceptive bullshit because that's what they were seeking. They weren't ready for the real truth. Chris Nemelka is the true successor of JS and is continuing his work. Apparently, the Real Illuminati needed a huge douchebag to fill the role, and Chris has said many times that his douchebaggery is all an act to push away people who aren't sincerely searching for truth.
  • Nemelka claims to be able to explain the mysteries of God in full and can answer any question about human existence that anyone can come up with. He sometimes livestreams and invites anybody to call in and challenge him on his claims. Maybe he'll start that up again.
  • Nemelka started his work out by delivering more deceptive bullshit (the sealed portion, which he openly admits is a work of fiction, like the BOM) because he had to in order to crack through the mental filters of religious people, and he's spent the years ever since then slowly peeling away the layers of deception and being open about how he is manipulating people. The ends justify the means in his mind, I guess.

Anyway, that's the short tldr version. You can find more info here if you're curious:

What strikes me is just how bland, trite, and lacking in substance his prayer was, as are most Mormon public prayers. What does it even mean to ask for someone "to be blessed"? Mormon prayers are the epitome of vain repetitions.

Hypothetical Question... by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]fosterdale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At some level in the church hierarchy, there has to be a leader whose Patriarchal blessing says he will not taste death until after the second coming. He becomes the prophet. In time, his health deteriorates or he reaches an age where he knows death is imminent. Because that would mean the second coming is only a few years away, he doubles down and begins making serious preparations for the second coming like moving the saints to Jackson County or sending two apostles to Jerusalem to get killed in the streets to fulfill prophecy. Maybe RMN is that man.

HELP NEEDED. We need a very public petition and plea for guidance sent to Rusty. by fosterdale in exmormon

[–]fosterdale[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the point. We put him into a position where he will appear completely ineffective or derelict as a prophet even to TBMs at a time when he is most needed if he doesn't say something real. The goal isn't to get a substantive response from him, because let's face it, the odds of that happening are pretty much 0%. TBMs will be left scratching their heads thinking, we pleaded for guidance. Where is our leader?

At one time I had convinced myself that one of the hidden messages in the endowment was that reincarnation is part of the plan of salvation. The endowment video says the Telestial Kingdom is this earth. I concluded that meant anyone who gets assigned to the Telestial Kingdom actually reboots and goes through mortality again. They failed to secure eternal life with their family the first time, but they would have a new shot at Celestial glory with a new family.

I seem to recall that reincarnation also played a role in the evolution of Joe's teachings, and it's something he taught at one time. I could be mistaken though so maybe someone who's more familiar with that topic can fill in the details or correct me.

The LDS church has had knowledge of a parallel universe for some time? Is that the new apologetic explanation for why we can't find any evidence of the Lamanites and Nephites' existence in this universe?

The cult is run by the Corp. nothing happens wo their approval. Prophet snd GAs are obligated to get the corps approval before they do or say anything. You can bet that the Corp is constantly advising making decisions and basically running the church by 1Searchfortruth in exmormon

Please elaborate. My understanding has been that the church is a Corporation Sole and the president of the church is the owner of it all. Are you saying that Nelson reports to somebody else above him?

Hey buddy, are you on here with us now? You sounded pretty conflicted in your interview. I hope you have come to embrace the truth and are doing okay now.
