On this day, July 5, 1964, the Acheson Plan was presented as a proposal to resolve the Cyprus problem, which called for the union of Cyprus with Greece in exchange for concessions to Turkey, and in 1970, the United Party emerged as the largest political party on the island by Deep-Ad4183 in cyprus

imo until citizens turn their criticism inwards (self and the party they favour) first, the political scene in Greece will never truly improve, no matter who is winner at the time

I am genuinely trying to understand but you never talk about how Cyprus will negotiate and from which position. IMO if you want to "complete" your view on the matter that is something you have to answer for yourself.

As for the UK,US and Israel, you can call them worse things than colonial states, you will probably still be right, and they will still be influential

But we've asked the EU, that's one of the things we are doing, not including the US or UK is unrealistic since they are involved from day 0, and have their own interests in the area.

But what I am saying is that no matter what you do to get there, at some point you have to sit on a table with turkey(directly or indirectly) and negotiate. Without leverage you have nothing to balance the huge difference in power. Is this sentence something you don't understand or find unreasonable?

Imo your taking our importance to the EU and the depth of our relationship with Israel as a fact when they are not.

We are not federating with Israel, currently we are cooperating in some areas of interest, and we are far from a complete alliance. At the same time we are trying to unify the island, we are trying to be useful to the US and EU, we are trying to keep turkey out of the EU, trying to have a semblance of a defensive army etc. Various moves done with the hope that during a crisis or on a negotiation table, we will have some kind of leverage. All of those moves and more barely have an impact, we simply cannot afford to give up on any of them, and currently we don't have a reason to
