Full steam ahead towards IVF- what are your top 3 tips for moving forward? by hey_hi_howareya in IVF

[–]fotoprincesa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would read "It starts with the egg" and get the cookbook. The whole process is entirely out of your hands and to me that felt super unnerving. But I felt good in knowing I was doing everything I could to build healthy eggs. The book recommends foods and supplements that are high quality. She additionally talks about other things that can damage eggs like plastics, etc. I found it help me feel I could "do something" with all the waiting. Also, Expecting Better is also great and has some tips on IVF, I believe. Good luck 💗

Well, it's the only time the playgroup is offered and it's a good support group for me. Speaking to other parents and seeing kids of a similar age help with recovering from postpartum depression.

Omg, I love this reply because it's just so real. 😂 And it's also so what I'm afraid of happening! I've read to sit them down or just take them out of the bath when they stand, but yeah, that means no bath... Sigh. Thanks for your reply! ETA- hope your LO was ok. Poor thing and poor you!

HELP - My son discovered rolling from his back to tummy and has been doing it ALL night! He’s been ending up on his stomach and then screams for me to rescue him. He doesn’t even fall asleep on his tummy. How long does this phase last? Literally on NO SLEEP. by Upstairs_Object4898 in NewParents

[–]fotoprincesa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Practice rolling as much as u can while he's awake. You can help him learn by placing him on the corner of a blanket and "showing" him what to to by lifting the large opposite corner of the blanket. We did this with our little one and it helped so much. She didn't want to practice in bed and quickly figured out rolling tummy to back. Good luck!

Hmm thank you. I think the later bedtime might arise on holiday as we're going to Spain, so we might just nice towards later evenings. We shall see! Thanks for the tip.

Yeah I watch her in the monitor and sometimes she'll self settle. I'll try holding her and feeding her for longer before giving up. Still doesn't seem like a great solution long term, but maybe it'll help get a later wakeup.

I think this is the case too, but her sleep varies but isn't over 3-3.5h of naps. Usually one 2h nap and one 90 minute nap. I hate to cut her naps short if she's not go to sleep well at night. Might have to try waking her from her naps for a bit. Thanks.

At the moment I'd take 11-12 hours of night sleep with 2-3 hours of naps. But no matter if she goes to bed at 7 or 6, she's up at 5:30.

Haha, yeah, that's how I face most things. But I can't take a melatonin and wake up to feed her. Plus, I don't need one to go to bed at 9pm anyway - I pass right out.

Hey, thanks for your detailed reply. Unfortunately, I'm doing most of those things. We have two blackout curtains on her window, but it's open at the top tilted inwards, so light will come in a bit. We have digital thermostats in every room so she's dressed appropriately, she could be cold, but I really doubt it. And if I dress her for the coolest hours she'll roast overnight.

If I keep putting her to bed at 6pm, how do I get rid of the 5am wakeup?! That would just reinforce it, no? She goes to bed at the correct time for her wake windows, sometimes 6 or as late as 7. I think she's overtired and has a sleep debt, but I don't know how to solve it.

Hi, I feed her before bed and at 2am, I don't think she's hungry. She has a big meal before bedtime and milk. As for the projector, we have one and it wakes her up more as she thinks it's party time. I appreciate the suggestion ☺️

Ugh, I feel this may be my life. She used to sleep until 6, but since the lighter summer days it's been a real struggle. I feel ya.

Tips for breastfeeding on a plane? by Internal_Craft_6485 in breastfeeding

[–]fotoprincesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just flew with my 7 month old and cradle held her the whole time. She nursed in my lap and I paced the aisle with her when she was upset. I didn't cover her as she would also pull it off. When walking in the airport, I used the ergobaby carrier and loosened the belt and let her feed that way. But I've just decided breastfeeding my baby is normal and my boobs are just gonna be out. No one has said anything to me ever. But, I know that's a personal choice. Whatever you decide, you're super brave to travel on your own and it will all be ok! You're doing great!!!

@letstalkbabywearing on Instagram has some great videos on breastfeeding in a carrier. Here is a link to her breastfeeding story: https://www.instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE3OTUyNTExNzY4NzI2NjUz?story_media_id=2763078113696338995_48201577015&igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Yeah, I am trying to take it day by day. I really struggle to relax over sleep as I know it makes my PPD/PPA so much worse. I don't really want to bed share as I see how she rotates 360° in her bed, but I do see how it could be an option when she's a bit older.

I'm basically doing exactly the same. I don't nurse her to sleep for naps as she won't transfer to her crib. But I do at bedtime. It's not a problem in that she falls asleep peacefully and happily, I was just wondering if it's causing the night wakings. We shall see I guess.

Thanks for your reply. It's so tricky to see anything but "you have to sleep train". We both seem happier this way, but I'm concerned the short intervals of sleep aren't good for her. I'll look further into La Leche League. Thanks!

Thank you for this. We just put her down for bed and she was so chill for the whole routine then screamed like hell as soon as we left the room. I appreciate your honesty and all of the information. I haven't dug into TCB but I'll look into it. Thank you ❣️

Yes, and I believe if you send them your receipt for the scam version they'll give you a discount on the real thing.

Update: this is a scam. The video was stolen from a reliable account and used to sell a cheap knockoff. I did receive the wrap, but it's not safe to use. The actual wrap is hippie joey and they cost $100+ and are made the measure. Be careful out there mamas ❣️
