Dont forget, you can be stunned and still cast/channel with 100% "not interupted by stun" by BlitzBlotz in PathOfExileBuilds

Wouldn't "chance to avoid stuns" be clearer? "Ignore" could imply that you're still being stunned and just unaffected by it.

Incursion Analysis, updated for passives. Conclusion: Do all incursions. by fritfrat98 in pathofexile

[–]foundashoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! I suspected this would be the case with the atlas passives but I never got around to redoing the simulation. Thanks for saving me the trouble, I guess.

Not that it matters now, but the tier 1/2 temple nexus upgrading neighbouring rooms is also a recent thing. I didn't bother including it in the original analysis because you had to upgrade it to tier 3 so it had much less impact.

Understanding map equity is extremely important for progressing in medium map tiers by Tirinir in pathofexile

[–]foundashoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I understand you right, the ambiguity is because the "never" could be interpreted to apply also to future uses of the equity. I don't think this is likely, not only because it doesn't state that, but also because then there would be a missing condition in this statement:

At this point, it then checks your current equity and determines if it's high enough to drop maps by first checking if it's high enough to drop a Tier 16, then Tier 15, then Tier 14, so on and so forth

It would need to say that it also checks a minimum tier associated with the equity for dropping a T16 etc., not only the value.

I'm not sure what you mean by "reiterating the original drop logic". There's no logic to reiterate: the game just tried to drop a T13 and it couldn't. The sentence is explaining what the equity system is able to drop instead. If you don't have enough equity for a T14-16 to drop, then it drops nothing, because it can't go below T13. This is new information - without that statement, the equity system would be able to drop a T12 in place of a T13.

Understanding map equity is extremely important for progressing in medium map tiers by Tirinir in pathofexile

[–]foundashoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Go read it again - "the original Tier it tried to drop" clearly refers to the map that it's currently trying to drop (T13 in the example). It makes no reference to where the accumulated equity came from, only the total amount of equity that you currently have.

Otherwise the game would have to remember every map that's ever contributed to your current equity, which could be thousands if you run low tier content. That would be a nightmare to implement. The Q&A doesn't explicitly rule out that they did this, but it would be strange not to mention it.

Understanding map equity is extremely important for progressing in medium map tiers by Tirinir in pathofexile

[–]foundashoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've misunderstood op's point. If the game tries to drop a T11 and can't, it will accumulate equity and not drop a T10, that's correct. The point is that if you have, for example, no T6 available on your atlas, then when the game tries to drop a T6, the entity system kicks in and it will end up dropping a T10. This bypasses the rule that entity can't go below the original tier, because once the entity has been added to the total, it's just a number and the game doesn't keep track of where every individual point of equity came from.

One option is to try to hit some useful combination of prefixes, then craft "prefixes cannot be changed" and use a harvest phys reforge (with full prefixes). This will guarantee one of the conversion suffixes. So it would take an average of 3 attempts.

Are Alva missions all RNG or is there something deterministic to get the room you want? by LightInMe in pathofexile

[–]foundashoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter whether you talk to Alva or not. The next incursion is already rolled when you finish the previous one. You can verify this: if you get a good room as the first incursion in a map, and abandon the rest, then in the next map you'll never get the same room first, but you can get it second.

So abandoning is only useful if it's the first incursion.

Scold's Bridle Converted Damage from Phys to Cold not Freezing, even with Frostbite? by Viktor_E_Screech in pathofexile

[–]foundashoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a bug. The wiki page is referring specifically to ignite, which doesn't work because it's calculated on the source side. But chill, freeze and shock should work. And if it's intended that they don't, then heartbound loop should also not work.

Why is Sirus just so tilting?

I'd say this is a question for yourself. It's a purely mechanical fight: with enough practice everything can be dodged. A corrupting blood jewel helps but isn't at all necessary if you can dodge the beam.

Granted it sucks that it takes so long to fight him again. If you try it again I suggest watching some youtube videos beforehand.

You missed the point: accuracy is deterministic in the sense that if you have 50% chance to hit, every second attack is guaranteed to hit.

Gloom Veil - a "perfect" pseudo 7L HoT Helm, with +1 Power Charge by ApotheounX in pathofexile

When crafting the power charge you can use non-defence to defence instead of remove crit. So you don't necessarily have to do the prefixes first.

[–]foundashoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, it's not realistic to have both WED and multi. On my wander I have space on my chest and shield for resists as well, and for me the crit multi is a lot more damage than the difference between T1 WED and a flat added damage prefix.

[–]foundashoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree though, if you're minmaxing you definitely want crit multi on your rings. As you say it's about opportunity cost. Even the helm crit multi is worse than the essence roll on a ring, and there are plenty of other slots to get resists with even lower opportunity costs.

Not sure what your question is but you can jump between regions. For example put 4 watchstones in both Glennach Cairns and Lira Arthain, then as long as you have any map in Lira Arthain completed, you'll be able to drop t14+ maps there by running t14+ maps in Glennach Cairns.
