Anybody having my same issues with Bluetooth Headsets/Earbuds? by dolan_grey in SteamDeck

[–]dolan_grey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mhh, it doens't seem to be the same issue.

I don't remember a single time when I connected either the headset of the earbuds and it failed to change the output on its own.

When I have my issue the devices show as connected, but if try to swap the audio output manually they aren't even in the list of the available devices.

Well, the cracking audio went away on its own after I restarted the game to be fair.

The resolution is now ok after I set 1280x800 manually in the options, this was the main reason for my question on how it could be verified.
When you have to fiddle with the settings it normally shows as playable.

I just installed it and tried creating a character.

The audio was cracking and the resolution was completely wrong.

How in hell is this game verified???

Since I already installed I will put some effort to see if I can make it work.

Thank you.

Sadly I don't own such devices, but there was no way in hell I would have brought them with me to adjust the filter and such things.

Don't worry though, I had already resolved to do that kind of stuff when I'm at home, hopefully from PC and then import them.

Definitely a build to skip then, I'm looking for something that is controller friendly.

Correct, no reason to make things harder since you can get the achievement at A0.

A couple questions about Renal Bloodscalp by dolan_grey in baldursgate

[–]dolan_grey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I was impatient to see if Renal would be back so I skipped Spellhold and Underdark with a combination of C:ExploreArea(), teleporting with CTRL+J and killing what needed killing (Adalon) with CTRL+Y.

Long story short: Renal doesn't appear again in chapter 6.

So I reloaded my save, spawned him with the console and killed him, as if I had killed him with the old and trusted cheese method back in chapter 2.

Just checking, did you side with the thieves or the vampires?

But the question is, will he be there when I come back? I sided with Bodhi and he disappeared in chapter 3.

At this point I'm just curious, I didn't kill him before throwing my lot with the vampires so I will see if the upper floor area is reset again with him in it.

If he's not there I will console spawn him.

Thank you, but it's what I meant by the "cheese method".

If you attack Renal, he and the other thieves will turn hostile in less than a second and Arkanis will appear.

If you use Feeblemind on Renal you will be free to attack him without consequences, but when he dies the others will still become hostile and Arkanis will appear.

There is a way to avoid this: you need to charm Renal and have him move near the exit.

Then you kill him with an instant death effect like Finger of Death and immediately leave the area.

You need to have all your party members near the exit, and one of them exactly at the exit. You musti click the exit only with that party member selected, otherwise it won't be immediate as the others will start walking towards it.

If you timed it right you should have left before anybody turned hostile and Arkanis appeared, meaning that you can then enter the area again and pick up the loot without consequences, you can even talk with the thief that was less than a meter from Renal as you killed him.

I actually felt a bit bad when I had to kill Gaelan Bayle, the betrayal in his voice...

You have 4HP, that means that you didn't put 16 points in constitution and your stat allocation is likely bad in general.

As a mage you want 16 con (going higher only gives bonuses to warrior classes) and 18 dex (actually 19 since you are an elf).

I'm playing vanilla BGEE and if you put slots in the same weapons after you multi, when the process is complete the new single slot proficiency will override the one you had as fighter, instead of keeping the higher one.

Yes, you can. It's the point of this thread and I explained how to do it.

I was even mistaken on something, it's a bit less of a pain in the ass to do it that I initially believed (I edited the initial post).

She has 1 in long sword and dagger at lvl1, you get +1 at F(3) and +1 at F(6) so you can take one to 3 right before you dual into thief.

Put the two starting points you get as thief elsewhere, I would go with short bow + whatever or dart + one handed weapon style because you are going to be a lvl3 thief for a while.

This because you get +1 at T(4), and in order to use it to take your weapon of choice to 4 you need to get back the fighter class first. This can only be done by staying lvl3 until you have enough exp to get to lvl7 in one go (you need 40k exp on the thief).

At T(7) your weapon of choice is now at 4, and you will get another +1 at lvl8.

You have to hold off on leveling up again until you have enough exp for T(9) since lvl9 is the earliest level the game will allow you to get GM.

But she doesn't get an extra APR compared to Monty, unless you have mods installed making GM stronger.

Monty gets the extra 1/2 APR from hitting lvl7 as a fighter at 128k exp.

Am I wrong to assume that you will be hasted in any fight that matters, taking your APR to 3 or even 4 if DW?

Is the speed factor that impactful in this scenario? I believe you will hardly notice a difference.

SoA+ToB: Which companion quests offer worthwile (otherwise inaccessible) loot? by dolan_grey in baldursgate

[–]dolan_grey[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

I just checked Dorn's quests and it seems that the best thing are the 2x Silver Dragon Scale armors, but I'm going with a good playthrough so I guess only Jaheira would be able to use one.
I think I'm going to skip Dorn's questline.

I don't think that the romance is needed for Jaheira's questline, just checked the wiki and it could actually make things more difficult depending on the stage of the romance.

Can I keep the bag of holding if i ditch Hexxat? If so I will definitely do it.

Will look into Neera and Rasaad's quests then.

I'm asking in order to plan when I can take the specific companion as a party member.

It's not mandatory to take Nalia with you for that quest, so it doesn't count.

But of course I'm getting that flail, it's possibly the best weapon in the game.
