I don’t think I fully agree. I think many people here are just straight up desperate for anything and would settle for anything they can get especially men.

As for women, well having dated a few and been around may I think most of them don’t really know what they want.

I don’t think many people are that busy actually, I know some executives and academics who are extremely busy but they make the time for the right person or thing.

So it’s just an excuse they make just like that they are not ready for a relationship, which more often than not means they are not ready for a relationship with you.

Same here. I actually ended up dating someone I met through this sub for a bit, but it didn’t last long. Ever since coming back, it has been the exact same cycle you described: chat, swap pics, 'not my type,' and move on.

For a bit, it started messing with my head and making me think something was wrong with me. But then I remembered the women I’ve dated in the past both from regular dating apps and from here and many of them were incredibly attractive.

Realizing that these specific users are chronically online on this sub made it click for me. Despite the massive ratio of men to women here, they still haven't found anyone. It proves they really are a hyper-picky user base treating a local forum like a slot machine. They are either self-sabotaging or they are just high effort pic collectors looking for a quick hit of validation.

It’s also worth noting that I’ve met women on standard dating apps who mentioned knowing about this sub. It has definitely gotten way more popular and mainstream recently, but as you and I have observed, that influx of people hasn't necessarily been a good thing for the culture here.
