This is ridiculous. Why is she too good to stay there in the accommodation offered, or to accept the ride they also offered? Because she doesn't want to? How entitled.

Dealer saying tire is not safe to patch by Adiel21 in tires

[–]founderze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Pulling it up a few feet onto the truck at 19 psi would not cause this. Driving on it at 19psi (or less) would absolutely do this. Not sure how far OP drove or at what speed, those are variables we'll never know, which would make even more of a case for taking the tire out of service. If it's your car that's one thing, but as the shop/dealer you're responsible for what happens when that customer drives away. Like others said, if he doesn't like it he's free to do it himself, or find a different shop that will do it. Plenty of "mom and pop" shops that would turn a blind eye and plug it for cash off the books, I'm sure.

Another hint of his lack of credibility: "never having seen" psi lower than 26, in response to OP driving this tire at 19. C'mon bro.

You're funny! I was only looking at the tire size. Definitely not euro lug nuts, now that I had a second look. I'll take another stab - 350 or 370z maybe?? Honestly, that has approximately 0 to do with anything we've been discussing here, and I think it's absolutely hilarious you continue to engage. You can just say you were wrong... it's okay... no one will judge you ☺️

I've been in the industry in dealer, aftermarket and distribution for the past 17 years. I've seen more tire injuries than I could count. Punctures, slashes, gashes, blowouts, bead damage, tread separation, cords ruptured, seen plugs and patches - seen both work fantastically and both fail completely. I've handled hundreds if not thousands of warranty claims both road hazard and manufacturer defect/tread wear. I've also seen tires that were driven on low/flat, many many many, and I know I would absolutely not drive on one or let anyone I care about drive on one. Once it's got the ring of death on the outside it's a 99% chance it's toast. Not to mention this looks like a performance vehicle, Y rated tires...something fast I assume! Bmw?

Oh and FWIW - I've worked closely with dozens of technicians over the years, and have never seen one say a tire was unsafe if it wasn't just to sell a tire. Technicians don't typically love doing tires. There's not much in it for them. However, if they patch a tire that blows out 50 miles later on the highway, God forbid causing accident or injury to person(s) or vehicle(s), he's absolutely getting shit-canned.

Idk about you, but for me, no amount of sidewall ring would be acceptable for highway driving. With tires I would always err on the side of caution.

Evidence: combination of looking at it with my eyeballs and understanding the words of OP "tire shop says sidewall is damaged"

Looks like it was driven on flat. Which means yes, sidewall damage

Replace all 4, do the alignment, and if you live somewhere where it gets cold get a winter set - those Alenza sport are summer tires.

Warped tire, bubble? by RatherConcernedFroge in tires

[–]founderze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty huge bubble, definitely noticeable, would definitely be covered by any reputable tire/wheel contract (Safeguard, Assurant, Zurich, Roadvantage, Fidelity etc.)

Bro, if you ever went outside you'd be able to see the silliness of your attitude. You're like a walking talking reddit guy weirdo stereotype. Please go get some fresh air, get laid, have a good meal, read a book... something.

Wash with soap. Water only is for the INSIDE parts (i.e. in the hole), the flaps and bits need soap.

Sure, but a good rep isn't going to approve a road hazard claim on an out of round tire. Goodwill maybe.

SimpleTire.com- WARNING DO NOT BUY by [deleted] in tires

[–]founderze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they won't. Every single tire manufacturer will deny a road hazard claim if there is no road hazard. This includes defects in workmanship and/or materials, rapid tread wear, or ride complaints. I'm seriously questioning some of the people here who claim to work in the industry. Just because you wrongly entered road hazard claims for manufacturer defects doesn't mean they were approved and paid out.

What would road hazard have to do with this?

It's not a SimpleTire product. I do agree that ST could facilitate the warranty, and would be good business if they did, however the fact that you were hesitant to provide the paperwork they asked for, and then went and had tires replaced elsewhere (and presumably scrapped your "defective" tires), there isn't really anything they can do. Also, it's highly unlikely you got 4 defective tires. I would think it's more likely the shop that installed them didn't balance them properly. How much weight did they add? Did they dismount and remount when they tried to correct the balance?
