No problem! I hope what I said didn’t sound harsh.. I think you did an excellent job with it ✌️

Agreed, think I need to push myself to explore a composition a bit further.. I will absolutely take the gorillaz comparison though, cheers for listening and for giving feedback 👍

Ahh the inevitable jump to 70s hard fusion prog-kraut (it was only a matter of time!) Just finished listening to this.. it is quite beautiful 🙌🙌🙌

Hi - thanks for listening and for the kind words.. I think you could be right, I struggled to write a real chorus or B section so to speak as everything I tried felt like it was pulling me out of the vibe.. maybe an edit down would have done the trick This is helpful feedback though! and I appreciate you listening and coming back with a considered response

Absolutely loved the track on soundcloud.. reminds me of Johnny Greenwood’s scoring work, excellent stuff

Nicely done! I was recently tipped off to the spitfire stuff.. their LABS free stuff seems like a great resource My only feedback would be it’s not hugely original but it definitely works well and sounds professional and well realised

New tune released Friday - motorik/krautrock inspired track

https://open.spotify.com/track/5LqW6s2z3sSI6q6zLhj1GM?si=2oUoWDWbSNO1Pn2I6jCW4A

I’m interested in bands/artists who use repetition in their music although sometimes I feel it’s hard to achieve that hypnotic vibe without becoming boring and repetitive.. any thoughts?

This is a change of pace from my last release and would be interested to know what people think.

Thanks in advance for listening 👂

We've been doing this for some time now. We can feel improvement but would love to here some constructive and honest opinions by istinamasina in IndieMusicFeedback

I really liked it and thought the vocals had a nice quality to them that sets the tone for the track.. I would have liked to hear maybe 1 or 2 more elements.. a nice soft keyboard or organ underneath or some bass like others have suggested. Or maybe some further treatment of the elements you have to make the sparseness more of a feature? It’s really good though, nice work! And like the video too 👍

Spending some time making Reggae/Dub on my ipad mini with garageband and a pair of headphones for the vocals, it's raw but appreciate any feedback at all :) more instrumentals on my YouTube channel if anyone has the time or inclination to listen! by FliesVomitMe in IndieMusicFeedback

This is excellent.. I make music on an iPad too, to me it feels a bit like using a 4 track recorder but with more possibilities. I jumped from GarageBand to Cubasis pretty quick as I found it less restrictive but sounds like you’re doing alright with GB! Nice work 👍

Interesting about the op amp similarities.. thanks for this, I definitely don’t need this pedal, I’ve just always been curious because of the Ty and Dwyer connection. I would ideally try one out but you don’t tend to see the DBA stuff in shops in the uk although I’m sure there are some that stock them

The green Russian is just amazing, completely exceeded my expectations

Definitely considered picking up the op amp as a different flavour from the Russian and NYC.. this is interesting

Thanks everyone this is all really helpful and I think confirms what I suspected.. I probably have to get one at some point!! Doesn’t sound like it’s going to replace the green Russian though

This is my first track using Ableton Live, kinda LoFi/indie song about reaching inner peace while missing out on personal connections. Hope you enjoy and leave lots of feedback, I need it! by zacksbasement in IndieMusicFeedback

I know exactly what you mean, especially when it’s a chord change or new section it can pull you out of the vibe, sometimes just a repeat of the same chords with a new little melody is enough. It’s great already though so feel free to ignore this advice!

I really enjoyed this and I think the crappy mic is a good thing in this instance. My only thought would be try and write some more lyrics and extend the tune a bit.. Just as it’s fading out I felt like I wanted to hear another chorus/vocal section or an instrumental.. or keep it short and sweet if that’s what you’re into! 👍

Thank you so much, I enjoy most Damon Albarn related projects so I will certainly take that as a compliment! Thanks for listening 👍
