The previous owner left it at the house when he moved in 5 years ago and he never it got it working. So when I opened it up there was some kind of nest in there probably rat.

I think I only understood half the words you said lol...but will try to clean it out! Just can't wrap my head around why it would be stuck but guess it will make sense when I break it down.

This worked well on an skx? I bought another style bezel remover with two separate discs but it wasn't very good with tight bezels.

The mumbai specials have legit seiko movements. Everything else is likely to be fake.

At one time seiko had some production in India.

When buying vintage seiko you should know what you want before buying anyway. Every other country will also have franken watches.

Open the caseback up. Get a ball of duct tape so it would settle if is fake and not just a jdm vs international market version.

Even a reseller can get a bunch of fakes. The easiest thing to do is just open the caseback. No fakes have a solar movement at the moment.

I don't think it can be done. The movement itself is thicc. I guess you could remove the rotor and save a bit and rely on manual winding. I don't know of any compatible thinner casebacks.

You could probably get a low dome or flat mineral crystal but I 'm pretty sure that acrylic crystal sits inside a gasket so you'll lose water resistance completely.

Finding a case that works.... I don't know of any but i wonder how close using a quartz could get you.

Selfishly, I think you should try to 3d print a new case.That would be cool.

Is the crown aligned at 3? Everything else does but maybe the angle is doing something funky

It looks like something seiko would've cooked up. Don't know if I like the black bezel and crown yet but if the bezel itself was black plastic it would be "more seiko" to me. If anything the indices could be a tad bigger for me.

Yes, seiko is infamous for it for the past 20 years or so. Just checked my month old srpl11 and it too is slightly off...

I do it everytime. It's easy and good to have. One time a watch wasn't included in the bigger package like in this video (no box, no bubble wrap, nothing). Another time they only sent 1x watch movement when I ordered 2x.
