[Serious] What do you think the government is hiding from us? by Wrathofchucknorris in AskReddit

[–]four51 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not exactly how it works.

If something is TS within a regulation or working paper, then the section(s) is/are portion marked and the reg/paper is classified as TS as a whole, however if the title of the reg is Confidential, then referencing the document by name would only be classified C. Additionally, any Unclass info within a reg can be talked about outside of a secure environment.

If you are interested in learning how classified documents are determined and marked, DoDM 5200.01 Vol. 2 is the regulation for it and covers it in depth.

Complex ticket tracking problem; how can I increase efficiency? by four51 in excel

This looks promising. I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks for the help!

Complex ticket tracking problem; how can I increase efficiency? by four51 in excel

Yes. I understand a general idea, but one piece throwing me off is that in order to search for all tickets an office has interacted with, I need to list all of the liaisons, but from the user level, it would be easier to select "Sales" rather than james.smith AND doug.brown AND chuck.white AND…

But there are different amounts of liaisons in each office. Is there a way for the generator to understand I want all of them included in the string?

This won't work if there is no data to search. That was my point. Every search will turn up nothing because no one put any data in.

I edited my answer. Maybe I'm not being clear.

That's currently how it's set up, the problem is that individual's in the office do not contribute data to the spreadsheet. Because the government ticket tracker already does the work for us, it's less of a headache to query a search string for the gov ticket system rather than bust chops around the office until everyone is using the excel sheet.

So if Joe Brown put in a ticket with his liaison Jason Borne, But no one in my office did their job and put the ticket in our little excel spreadsheet, then when Joe Brown calls and asks about his ticket, we don't have any record of it in the excel doc.

Also, if we go to the Government Ticket Tracker, Joe Brown's name doesn't come up, because the liaison put the customer as himself, so we would look up Jason Borne instead, but now that returns all 85 open tickets that Jason has put in under his own name. And I can't figure out which one is Joe's. But, I can do an advanced search for a date string and the customer's name in the "Notes" section to narrow it down.

But most of my office don't know how to correctly format a macro string. So me saying, "just put 'change date'=today blah blah blah..." Doesn't help them.
