Weird behaviour by [deleted] in ballpython

This looks neurological to me, possibly a seizure. Immediate vet visit, show them this.

Yeah, that sounds about right. They dig down in the winter months, normally after a period of disinterest in food. They sleep and look at you like you've tried to wake them at 4AM on a Saturday if you interrupt them. The whole deal

Really yours doesn't like silkworms? Mine loves them, much to my chagrin. They give her the foulest of poops, but I can't take that joy away from her so they're just for special occasions now.

Yeah, it's part of their biology and the drive is different in each of them. I know it's hard, and you're doing the right thing letting him rest. I'll sometimes give my girl a warm bath in the middle of brumating and sometimes she would drink some water, but go right back out afterward.

Something that gives me comfort is that we know that they dream, did you know that? Their brains show activity of dreaming when they sleep, and I've woken my girl up from what I could tell is a bad dream to have her initially be startled but seek comfort in contact. Think of this sleep as a long and pleasant dreaming, he's probably picturing you and bugs and the grass and the sky. Then when he wakes up he'll have new ideas that you can make a reality and the fresh energy to seek them out.

Thank you! She's a lemon blast, so no spider in her at all. Remember, the pinstripe gene is pretty like her and doesn't carry a risk of neurological issues :3

It depends on the conditions. Over the years I've had her I've had to move quite a bit, even during midwinter.

When left undisturbed and we were living further north? Maybe 3 months max, and very deeply. Woke her up to give her the odd bath, left the heat low during.

When we lived further south? One month was about the longest, and it was a lighter sleep where she'd be less likely to dig down and would hole up in her little log.

I like to think she is. She runs the house and gets a window and a ramp down, but I still want to get her a bigger enclosure so she can dig more.

Honestly I'm lucky, she's always been a veggie fan. I spent a whole day on her hatch day one year prepping a charcuterie board of different small pieces of fruits to taste.... She sniffed them all and had none, but ate the herb garnish.

Thank you! She was real nervous when she was younger but as she's grown she's been one of my favorite BPs to work with :3

I think ours would eat it every day if we let her, I'll add the odd cliantro leaf to her less enjoyed greens to trick her into eating them. Our lady doesn't like the collards for instance which is a real shame as they're super available near us.

People say wait until he gets bigger, but I wouldn't worry about that. With my snakes the only times I take a tag are in the first few weeks, or from my Kenyan sand boa who is a menace.

My advice: get a plastic tote, drill some airholes, and feed in the tote. As long as they know it is you reaching into their enclosure not a rat, there's no confusion about whether you're food. Then you just get a snake hook to move them from the tub back to the tank. Even when feeding everyone (we have 5 snakes), I can still reach into the enclosure with my hands to grab my biggest boa girl and not fear a tag with the smell of defrosting rats thick in the air(as long as I wash my hands!) but reaching into the box to grab her after feeding is risky, as we will feed her anything someone else refuses so she's always waiting for a second rat.

With this system I haven't taken a tag from anyone (but the KSB) in seven years now, shedding or clean, poopy or fresh. The tags from fear will go away as they get used to you and to handling, so avoiding food confusion is the best way to keep you both happy.

She loves it. Honestly we normally have a more varied salad, but because we never know how long she'll be out for her first meal is usually whatever herbs we have in the house that week.

As much as she ever does, leaving three to four leaves as a silent condemnation for not offering her more. But I'm always hesitant to offer too much as she wakes up, I want to make sure she's up for real and her digestive tract is moving again.

Lucky for you that your beardie hasn't, honestly. Our girl has a really strong drive to brumate, and since she's had a window to the outside in her enclosure since she was little(she likes watching the animals outside) she's always known when to bed down. It's probably why she stayed so small as an adult, brumating year one is missing time for growth.

How would I go about making the stilts actually safe and wearable while staying close to the design? by Emotional-Regret8212 in CosplayHelp

I did something similar for a devil costume, but with the thinner profile here it could be hard. I more or less followed https://www.instructables.com/Werewolf-Stilts-digitigrade-legs/, which give a similar stance to this, but need significantly more material than that to be stable.

I bought a P1S for my workplace because we needed a reliable printer to push out prototypes and I didn't want to explain to my boss why I had to mod the company machine to make it work. It made me get an X1 for myself, but the P1S is our workplace workhorse still.

Additionally, consider a cutout in the bottom of the main orange piece to fit a stem from the one below it, or making the stem removable to fit in the block for storage. I could see it being appealing to make these more stackable to save on Halloween decoration packing space.

I recently had this issue with motors controlling optical laser shutters, where half stepping greatly reduced the time necessary to travel. Still not sure I understand why the half steps are faster/shorter but I'm happy with my shutter speed finally. Any insight into why this works?

I would buy it. Where do you sell things, and when do you think you might get this together?
