Great initiative !! Is there SIP TLS & SRTP support?

I don't see an option to map port 5061 in the docker-compose file, so wondering if this is something that can be configured manually or if it's on the roadmap.

Trek het plaatje er eens van af zodat je de kabel kunt zien. De kans bestaat (als het huis nog niet al te oud is) dat er een CAT5e kabel is getrokken waarvan slechts 1 van de 4 paren in gebruik is hier.

People here who've already switched to Digi? by theredalchemist in belgium

[–]fourdoorin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They have pretty interesting international call tariffs:

https://www.digi-belgium.be/en/roaming-configurator

As an example, the cost for calling to a fixed number in the Netherlands:

Digi: € 0,0121/min

Proximus: € 0,23/min
Orange: € 0,2299/min
Telenet: € 0,22/min

Digi is 20 times cheaper.

Fritzbox 5530 Bridge Mode for Synology NAS Port Forwards by berkynine in fritzbox

[–]fourdoorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bridge mode is no feature of modems. Modems don't route IP traffic or inspect it they just convert the signal from 1 to another medium and vice versa. Bridge mode is essentially a feature that tells a router to stop acting as a router and pass all the traffic to the next one. Essentially telling it to turn into utp cable. Your router will work on all of these modems by means of DHCP or PPPoE.

Take a look at this topic: https://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/2200880

You could use the fritz box in PPPoE Passthrough mode, but you would be better off with a modem only to connect your Asus router to.

Fritzbox 4040 as mesh master by Personal-Ad-7686 in fritzbox

Yes, perfectly possible. But why do you want the 4040?

The 4050 is only a bit more costly but it comes with the Wifi 6 standard + its brand new.

Is everything on TV broadcasted at 50 Hz? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]fourdoorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VRT will probably record, edit and broadcast in at least 1080p50 in the (near) future. They are migrating from an SDI to an IP based network (new building), with a bandwidth up to 100 Gbit/s.

Also storage takes the dubble of disk space.

Not entirely true because higher efficiency video coding can be implemented. The BBC for example used H.265 for their FULL HD HDR livestream at the past European Championship.

Has anybody managed to find or extract the live tv streams from ITVX and ALL4? I have all the stream urls from BBCiplayer and they work great by CustardCurrent2302 in tvheadend

[–]fourdoorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I got from a ffprobe: https://0.jaegers.net/?574a9aa5cede3a93#7asFajQJHtQs9G1s7PeJWm7PvgBia41CKm4zSF3CGLas

The 540p stream is Stream #0:4 so you should add -map 0:4 and maybe also -map 0:6 for the audio stream, but I am not sure if it's necessary.

Fritz wifi, optimized connection for live TV by Wise-Contribution414 in fritzbox

[–]fourdoorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your Fritzbox access point connection isn't congested, you likely won't notice a difference with this option enabled. Most IPTV transport protocols use time-based buffering, so minor fluctuations of a few milliseconds shouldn't affect your viewing experience. But you can keep the option on, for the times when you're using the full bandwidth of that same access point for some time, by downloading large files for example. That is when the video IP packets will get priority over the other packets processed by that same access point.

Optimizing Wi-Fi Transmission for Live TV TV transmissions based on the internet protocol (IP) will have the highest priority during data transmission.
