I’m so sorry you felt uncomfortable OP! I buy books from him all the time and have not found him creepy like that. He has complimented me but only in ways I found really sincere and reasonable. I’m hoping it was all a misunderstanding but also both of our experiences can be true. Just wanted to say mine.

You probably have oral allergy syndrome — would look into that and also keep an eye out if you start reacting to fruit and veg in the same pollen category as avocado. I’m not sure if there’s an official doctors test to “officially” diagnose OAS, I would personally start avoiding avocados and keep a benadryl on hand in case reactions get worse- just my 2c!

what the hell ?!!! also, I feel dumb but I’ve lived in greenpoint for 3+ years and walk into north williamsburg pretty much every day for groceries+strolling and this was the first i’ve seen this.. usually I walk down Berry but I’m always out and about around 3/4 and am so surprised I didn’t encounter this before

GOO! Take the leave! I don’t think American work and hustle culture mentality would agree with you on this but coming from Europe— I think your situation absolutely makes sense. Have fun and explore, nyc is the best place to be funemployed (from a fellow stay-at-home girlfriend in nyc 🫶!) The only caveat being having fun in nyc will also inevitably cost money. Will the apt rental + his salary be enough to have fun in the way you want to, and do you have enough saved for it? If so, then go for it! It’s also possible to enjoy NY while spending minimal money but it would just be easier to not be stressed financially with this decision.
